News Mum Online

So here I am with my 3rd #NewsMumOnline post

This is going to be a bit of a have you heard post...

Have you heard that:
  1. Pistorius is to perform again, maybe.
  2. The reading age at Heathrow is 2 months behind the national average, and is being blamed on the noise resulting from being in the flight path
  3. Plebgate Andrew Mitchell - officers arrested. PLEBGATE even has its own Wikipedia page now
  4. Although Westham has bidded on the Olympic Stadium the Olympic Park is now open for tours to view it
  5. David Miliband has resigned and is set to move State side! He's resigned from Politics AND football it would seem.
  6. A child was smacked in Boots, by a member of staff for being naughty! How would it make you feel?  Personally I would be outraged and would be bombarding Boots on social media.
  7. In Barnsley teens under the age of 16 have to be home before 9 p.m.  Yes, a curfew! I rung @DuncanBarkes, live on @lbc973 the other night to say that I think it is tantamount to the beginning of becoming a Police State......... 1984-esque!
I think that's enough for now.

Had you heard about these things?

An interesting week of news I think.

  1. FWIW, I agree with curfews. I'd rather they were "law" for school age children to make it easier for me to lay the law down at home. My kids have ALWAYS had to be in before 9 on a school night and no later than 10 on a weekend. If it was 9pm across the board (law) it would be much better IMHO.

I think a reading age comparison of 2 months is a bit of an over-reaction. Try having a child who is two YEARS behind with his reading age but is still trying so hard.
