Thoughts Turn To Holidays as The Temperatures Drop Right?

I don't know about you but I have LOVED September - it's been as good as any holiday - no need to get away for sun and blue sky. The weather has been GLORIOUS. Clear blue bright skies every day. Temperatures that are warm, without being too hot, and no rain. We had a spectacular orchestral storm the other night, but it was dry by morning. Such a difference to August when it seemed it rained every time we wanted to go anywhere, or put washing on the line. My nieces and nephew were here for 11 days in August and for 7 of them it rained.
Yet, Aaron's been at school since 3rd September and it's only rained three times, all before we left for school, like today, where all the pavements and roads were wet but we were dry :-)

But, Autumn is starting to wink and wave at us. You can't fail to notice the beauty around us as the warm colours of the leaves in the trees replace the warmth from the sun. Nature's clever like that!
Yesterday was the first morning where I thought a light jacket is now required. I blame the arrival of Autumn Equinox on 21st September.

So there are only two things we can do to cheer ourselves up, as the temperatures now drop and the evenings start to shorten. Don't even remind me that the clocks will soon go back. YES it is Spring Forward and Fall Back. The only good thing about that being that it makes the mornings temporarily brighter!

(1) We can start preparing for Christmas (yes, I DO have our visit to Harrods' Santa's Grotto already booked) and I need to get in on the Elf on the Shelf action this year.

(2) We can plan next year's holiday, or at the very least some weekend getaways. We'll have 2 weekends away coming up. One in November and one for our October wedding anniversary.

So do you have next year's Summer holiday booked? It will be my FIRST time being restricted to school holidays. Can I book a cheap family holiday within that prescribed 6 week period, when everyone else wants to go too? To get a great family deal you can already make a deposit now for a 2015 holiday. Do you know I have managed to get to 40 without ever having travelled all inclusive, so I quite fancy this destination in the Algarve or this hotel all inclusive hotel in Egypt . Many 2015 deals at A1travel.com come with free child places for children under 12 years of age.

Aaron and I both adore being outdoors in the sun
I'm blessed in that he travels really well. We've flown to Ireland many times, and it is never Aaron that stresses me out, but rather all of the stuff (buggy, car seat etc...) oh and going through security is hideous with a baby. When you break down the buggy at their request and then your toddler waddles off, yet you have valuables left on the security conveyor belt, and security staff just blankly staring at you as if to say "what are you going to do now?". The next time we fly, where a car seat and buggy won't be required, I will be THRILLED. We even went in the car to Ireland with my Dad and his wife last year, and despite us being in the car from morning till night, Aaron was amazing! I did have the foresight to bring a portable DVD player though!

What I love about A1travel.com is that it is really easy to see if a hotel is a great family choice or has a water park (see the symbols below):
So, are you thinking about 2015's holidays?
Where are you off to?

For us it will require some thought, as me and Aaron love the sun, but Daddy loves the shade. His ideal holiday would be Norway! Maybe we'll drag him to the sun, and stick him under a huge parasol :-)

This post is a collaboration with A1travel.com who are worth checking out.
