A Little Boy that Knows How to Relax

I am joining in with The Ordinary Moments Week 2, as I am going to try and participate every week.

mummy daddy me

We've had a lot of awesome days out in the past week so it was hard to isolate an ordinary moment but this one won hands down.

As this linky is a Sunday thang, I am choosing a photo from last Monday, as technically it does fall into THAT week.

Here is my Aaron just "laxing":

Toddler just chilling

He picks up ALL my habits.  Don't get me wrong he doesn't drink coffee, and he's not addicted to Eastenders and Coronation Street, BUT he does lie in like me, which is unusual for a child AND he has recently adopted my need to relax.

He was in a "park" (grass by the road) recently (last Monday) and was doing stunts on his bike on a "valley" bit and then all of a sudden the bike got flung down and he did the above.

We then went to Lidl and I was gutted I had not caught it on camera but ta da, he did it again on the way back, and as a result you get to see the above.

My chilled, charming, ordinary little man, enjoying what ought to be an ordinary moment.  Safety, security, your Mum by your side and the sun on your face.

Lots of love, Liska xxx

Life is for the Living

Prose for Thought

Life is for the living
Death will soon enough come

Life is for the living
Not a time to feel glum

Life is for the living
I needed a little nudge

Life is for the living
It's not something you can fudge

Life is for the living
A time to feel alive

Life is for the living
We've really got to thrive

Life is for the living
It's best done with our full heart

Life is for the living
So let's all make a start

Life is for the living
Children need us at our best

Life is for the living
Night's the time to rest

Life is for the living
I have said my piece today

Life is for the living
Let the nonsense go away

Life is for the living
Something we all need to consider

Life is for the living
Let's decide what to get ridder

Life is for the living
There are diamonds in the rough

Life is for the living
Let's find 'em when it's tough

Life is for the living
It's true it's what you make it

Life is for the living
Let's nurse it and not break it

I had a good old moan yesterday. Yes it was ME.  I moaned that I wasn't a Britax Mumbassador, that I wasn't invited (nor welcome) to the Drayton Manor screening of the new Thomas film.  It was all a bit woe is me.  But the thing is, both had limited numbers and there are about 6k active Mummy Bloggers, so if I watch every opportunity that passes me by, I will be one unhappy lady, so the above poem was written after getting a nudge from reading Victoria's rather apt post, and mainly because that was yesterday I felt like that, and today, after all, is a new day.

The Ordinary Moments - a special photo of my boy

There is a new linky in town.  Mummy Daddy Me has started The Ordinary Moments

mummy daddy me

This is her post for this week, where you link up if you want to participate.

This is week 1 of the linky and I am going to TRY and join in every week, as there are linkies I LOVE and ADORE and yet I am always so fickle, so VERY inconsistent.  Let's try and make this one I do every week.

It didn't take me long to decide which photo to include.

It is this one from yesterday:

We have just got on the train, it's yesterday and we are on the way to Lollibop, but out of 211 photos THIS one is the MOST ordinary.  Or is it?!?!?!?

I have picked it for so many reasons as follows:

  • It is the first time I have seen for definite that my toddler is now a BOY!
  • Look at the light Vs dark.  The sun streaming in and highlighting his foot.
  • Look at the position of his left mellow hand.  I taught yoga for 38 of the weeks he was in the womb.  I think it has stayed with him.  He has the ability to be meditative, despite usually being a full on loon, with too much energy!
  • He's gone into a world of his own.  But I captured it.  It's special.  It shows the essence of my son.  My still, thoughtful, meditative son.  Comfortable and at ease, knowing he is safe with Mummy and Daddy, on a train he often travels on.  Comfortable that although we are going somewhere new, he trusts me that we'll have fun.
  • Wearing a shirt that fit him last Summer too.
  • It's the first day in weeks that it's been windy and cool, so he has a long sleeved shirt underneath.
  • The sandals haven't been worn in a few days for the same reason.
  • The plaster tells a tale of a scraped knee as he went downhill  on his new balance bike when we spent the day in Hampstead Heath last Saturday when he'd only had it about 5-6 days.  Silly Mummy for taking her eye off the ball and letting him.
  • He's MUCH browner than he is in Winter but then we have FULLY enjoyed the heatwave and had our paddling pool out everyday that it was hot.
  • His hair is oiled up with coconut oil and for the 1st time in ages is free of tangles.  Mummy trimmed the dead ends out too.
  • He's looking handsome and showing some signs of the man he will one day become.
I love you Aaron.

What You Time Did you Have Since last Week? T'You'sDay

Here I am again, to remind you to have some me time.

Hopefully you've got something planned or some me time that's happened since last T'You'sDay?

The me time I have had this week was short but ever so sweet.

Yesterday I had to go to Lidl to do a little #CBias shop and I left Aaron at home with Daddy.  Normally he would have insisted on coming with me but he was shattered from a weekend in Thomas Land AND he's so so close to Daddy now, who took a few days off for his birthday, so I took it as red, that he wanted to stay (although I did ask twice LOL) and ran for the hills :-)

It's a 20 minute walk there AND back.  I noticed every leaf on every tree.  I felt the sun on my face and took off the jacket I regretted putting on.

Once I realised how hot it was (you couldn't tell from indoors) I got myself back and changed into a summer dress, and took Aaron to a friend's, where we spent the whole afternoon in her garden.

Anyway, back to that shop.  I took photos to show the sort of things I was seeing and appreciating.

Loving the sun and its effect on the leaves.  Enjoying capturing it with my new camera!

Appreciating every burst of colour that I saw.
It might have been fleeting.  It may not have involved a spa day or putting my feet up.

But to walk without pushing a buggy, to start a thought and finish it without hearing "Mummmmmeeee" was priceless.

Sometimes it's the little things that are important.

What did you do?

Link up below; it's a blog hop after all.  Oh, and grab the badge, and encourage some other Mums to regain the spring in their step.

Wot So Funee

So I am joining in with Wot So Funee for the second week in a row.  This may just become a habit...

Wot So Funee?

I have photos AND video to go with what I am going to describe but alas, messy me, has misplaced the USB cable OR Aaron has flung it somewhere, as is his way :-(

So Friday, we were in the pool (we went swimming for two hours) and as Aaron often wathches Jake and the Neverland Pirates, he held his fist up to his eye (like a telescope - which he has never done before) and said:

"harrr harrr
I am cap'ain hook!
Can I have my treasure back!
Please!"

Yes, he really does drop the "t" in Captain.

The please at the end had me laughing till I cried, so so so cute, and I have since managed to capture him doing it on video a few times - will upload when I can find that DAMN cable!

Also, in the same pool, on the same day, the same boy was also funny for a second time.  Remember last week when he decisively told me that I am NOT a Princess? Well this is similarly funny at Mummy's expense.

He was hanging off the railing, that accompanies the steps that go into the Learning Pool, and something about the way he was doing it triggered a memory... (because I can't remember anything before the age of four and Aaron is only two this doesn't often happen)

and I said to him

"ahhhh you are swinging in the water on those railings the way Mummy did when she was little!"

To which he said:

"Mummy was little?"

To which I said

"yes, 40 years ago"

To which he said

"oh dear"

and just to make certain I understood the sentiment it was followed with

"that's not good".

For some reason, his little wisdom made me howl with laughter.

My little man is far too wise, far too clever, and at least once a day, far too FUNNY.

That's why I love this linky as it is forcing me to record these moments.

Moments I would love to share with him when he is older.

Conscious Connections MUMS

A weekly blog link up for Conscious Mums.

As long time readers will know, I have started another blog/website called Conscious Mum.

I thought it would be lovely to connect with each other.

We know when we are conscious.  When we have listened to OUR inner whisperer or that of our CHILD'S.  When instinct has guided us through a time of crisis, and we have felt an unknown entity or our higher selves guiding us.  When Mother's instinct kicks in and fear takes a backseat.

Being a Mother is a unique opportunity to get conscious if you are not already.

Quite sleepwalking through life, and open up.  I am.  Was sleepwalking since 2010 but reawakening now.

What do you find lifts and elevates you?  Now, the 2013 Aquarian energy is calling us to be our magnificent selves and do for the world what we were called here to do.

I listened to an awesome conference call online last night and these were the highlights I made a note of:
  1. We are already enough.
  2. If we're an acorn, we are already an oak tree we just need to crack the shell and grown - it is within us.
  3. Similarly a caterpillar is already a butterfly.
  4. The law of attraction conditions us to believe we are not enough.  We are.  Look inside instead of outside.
  5. Be your own magnificence.
  6. Masterpiece of divine is already within us.
  7. Ice is not a problem.  Affirmations will not defrost it.  Raising its temperature takes care of ice.  Raising our vibration takes care of ours.
  8. Problems dissolve as we evolve.
  9. The distance between us and our SONG is only a matter of frequency.  Reset that dial!
  10. Make your life welcome.
  11. Say yes to the yes!
  12. When we wait for the world to say we are good enough, our energy stagnates and we create crises around us, in finances and in relationships.  As the pressure builds it is a sign that the acorn is cracking its shell.  Burst free.
  13. Gospel of Thomas says What we Bring Forth will save us.  What we do not bring forth will destroy us.  So do not self sabotage.
  14. Discover your purpose and rewire yourself and become congruent with your truth.
  15. Once you know the truth your destiny is sealed.
  16. Relationship and financial problems only symptoms of us not being connected to who we are.
  17. We practice shelf improvement instead of self improvement.
  18. Energy on planet is higher than ever before.  We now need to say yes to our yes and are being called to.
  19. Life happens through you not to you!
This is the >>> website we were directed to, at the end of the call. I have not signed up.  There is useful content on that page though.

#OneWeek

I am joining up with the #OneWeek linky over at Older Mum in a Muddle

one week

It is a simply beautiful idea for a linky.

Due to a big problem with my Apple MacBook I still have not recovered all of my photos, so the earliest back in Winter I can go, photo wise, is 1st and 2nd November, but this is kind of apt, as it is the first time I can remember Aaron wearing a hat, scarf and jacket this Winter.

He never agrees to wear a hat, unless it is freezing the balls of a brass monkey, but he did this day, simply because it was a novelty.  Winter had begun.

Blogger in its infinite wisdom has decided to put my 2nd November collage above my 1st November one....

So 1st November saw Aaron in his hat, scarf and jacket.  As you can see, the hat was soon off.  This was me playing with my Sony Bloggie camera, a real novelty back then, and a snap at £35 from John Lewis.  It takes fab photos and even better HD video footage that can even be played on a 46 inch TV.

2nd November saw us go for a LONG walk with my friend Sandra.  We saw beautiful scenes everywhere we went.  Me and my new camera were very happy, and as you can see we were even blessed with a rainbow.

In the pics you can see Aaron pushing the buggy.  Even though it is slightly taller than him and he can't even see over the top of it, he has been obsessed with pushing it - on and off - all through winter.  It took till last week for the husband to see him do it, and he panicked saying it was too heavy for him, but Aaron's been doing it for months and can even do it for half hour at a time.

Just to prove that he knows what he can cope with, last week, (a week ago today) on the way back, the husband put three bags of shopping in it.  Aaron pushed it only 3 feet and asked to go in it.  He knew it was too heavy - he knows his limits.

Is it true that bees die at the end of Summer?  We found one, as above, and I took lots of close-up shots of it.

In these 1st November photos below, you can see the pumpkins, left and right of our next door neighbour's door.  No bigger indication is needed, that it was indeed November.  Aaron loved looking at them, and called them "cumkins" no matter how many times we told him pumpkins.  That is something I want to remember when he is older.

1st November was the ONLY day he let me put that scarf on him.  He only wore gloves about 5 times despite us being out in the elements every day (I don't drive). Our local shops are a 30 minute walk, so it church, and we quite happily walk there often.

Winter doesn't have to mean being wrapped up indoors; it can mean being wrapped up and active outside.

Over at Older Mum she has pics of her daughter on a scooter.  Aaron spent most of the Winter on his.  I hope to join in with this Linky every day this week, so hopefully as the Winter progresses in these posts, we can get to the scooter :-)

Make A Change - start with the person in the mirror - New Year New You LINKY

If you wanna make the world a better place, then look at yourself and make that change!

Michael Jackson's Man In the Mirror - You Tube Video WITH LYRICS

I have done a lot of soul searching today, and mostly hummed the above, a lot.

Had to hum it because as much as I have heard it through the years, I did not know the lyrics.

Please watch the above you tube video; if you are like me, you know the song really well but NOT the lyrics.

That's why I have chosen a you tube vid that comes with them :-)

Look how apt they are, even to the point of putting on a winter coat (it is VERY cold out there right now).

Anyway, I found that the time I was spending online was not doing anybody any good, and hey, if it is not improving the world of you or your readers why bother. So no more!

I am entering a new world.  My new home is over at Conscious Mum, but I will of course still blog here too.

So, what change are YOU making? What is your person in the mirror up to? What have the winds of change blown up or blown away for you? If you have a new website, new blog, or a blog post that shows you've made a change, feel free to link it up below.

I know there is a whole new vibe in the blogging world at present and it is heart warming to see.

While I was writing this post I felt inspired to write a poem, so I just rustled up the below.

Forgive me it was done quickly and with Ice Age 4 on in the background it is not necessarily a literary masterpiece but hopefully it gives you an insight into my feelings.

I want to feel uplifted
When I come online
I want to feel connected
To know I will be fine
I want to find the friendships
That keep me warm inside
I want to go on out there
And no longer want to hide
I want to find some people
Who like me feel the same
I want to get to know you
and be glad that you came
So pull up a chair
take a seat,
Let's laugh a while,
Let's have a brew
Let's go online
Let's be sublime
Let's laugh
Let's be as NEW

Pimp a Post Sunday - #PAPS - Being Two

This is the second week of Super Amazing Mum hosting the #PAPS.  I love it as it gives us chance to big up a post that we have really enjoyed this week.

Well, the one that truly touched my heart is this post from Not My Year Off about a Mum and her two year old.

With Aaron being two and a half I can really relate.

I need to be a bit more nostalgic and write a post like it myself.

Anyway I won't write anymore as I am currently enjoying being with my two year old and I want you to leave me and go and read that post anyway :-)

Enjoy,

A Year in a Blog

So Top of the Pops style,
I am going to look back on 2012 and pick a post that represents each month.

Each month below
will have a post (in yellow) and each post a pic (below)

Not everything about Covent Garden was fun for Aaron - bless him! Scary dog man!!!

January
It was COLD and I went out for the day to Covent Garden for a British Chiropractic Association event, got chatting to Wit Wit Woo, went to the park with her and her wonderful son, said goodbye and ended up in the London Transport Museum afterwards.  Really good day and proved to me that I can tackle London Transport with Aaron who was one and a half at the time.

Absolutely LOVES the red cars you can hire from Concierge!
February
Continuing the transport theme, we discovered that we can get to Westfield Stratford City VERY easily and that Aaron loves the red cars there that double up as a buggy and don't cost a king's ransom to hire.  This post regarding Westfield Stratford being child friendly has had over 1,000 visitors. The Olympics may have had something to do with it methinks.

March  The month where a professional film company made the above #WordsHeard You Tube video for me... The less said about the whole sorry affair that ran up to it, the better!  Over but not forgotten.

April
The month where my consumer power found a platform on Twitter and on my blog.  I used both to convince Bath Store and Crosswater to replace my taps AND install them free of charge via a plumber they provided and booked.  The inconvenience of a defective product, and being without running water as a result (with a nearly two year old), and my writing all of this, ringing them several times, and staying in while it was fixed was a high enough price to pay, my end.  It proved to me that we can use our online space to get satisfactory results when the big giants try to mess with our consumer rights!
May  I turned to Twitter and the blog to express my dissatisfaction with Boris winning the London Mayoral election  - shocking!
June  It would be completely remiss of me to pass over June without mentioning Aaron's birthday.  As the baptism party October 2011 was so very expensive, for his birthday June 2012 we took him to the zoo, to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne and he simply loved it - we had a really good day.  To any parent reading, you don't always have to throw a party.
July The highlight of July was definitely me being on @lbc973 (radio) and NOT via phone in, but by actually being invited into the studio, to talk about the Olympics no less! :-) The post all about it: Me on the Radio - New Mum Online - on LBC 97.3
 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9RyxGGZJfKyGRkQrcsrK1ttMf7t5_hbDf0BtqwRwMPybg0Pgl_UrGr6fXywDr5wEgUmQ87wvN6Dg8LLLAekxSacKRqgwtWQOJ94ZVGh85TS-lJ0KA13X2tRlZO7Ye6ERTYho7LRaK-I-h/s1600/Picture+314.png
August August saw me achieving some fabulous daily page views (during the time I wasn't in Ireland) and I am glad to say I have maintained the 1,000 a day since (not every day, but the days that are more make up for the days that are less).

September
This wasn't my most visited post but was my reaction to the Kate Middleton France "Closer" fiasco!  I liked Hello Magazine's coverage of her Diamond Jubilee Tour and in this post I flick through the magazine on a You Tube video if you would like to take a look.  Some truly beautiful photos that put the "cheap" ones in perspective.

October
A highlight of October is definitely me making a photo book for my Mum as her Christmas present.  She already has it as I could not resist.  It is 52 pages long and a large coffee table book.  The quality is stunning.  For us it is particularly poignant as she lives in Ireland, so this way she can look at pics of Aaron when she is not with him.  Incidentally if you have the time to dedicate to making one, this is what Blurb said in their most recent email to me:
Order by 13th December and not only will your gifts arrive in time for Christmas, but we’ll also give you 20%* savings with no minimum spend. Simply enter the promo code 2012SANTA at checkout before the shipping deadlines.

November
November was all about Mumsnet Blogfest 2012.  Their first conference.  It was great and this roundup post of Mumsnet Blogfest has seen me go on to win a 3 night stay at Feather Down Farm (not that I have heard from them yet).
Post of the year As December is yet to come, I will take the liberty of doing a second post for November.  This was my post that kick started us all coming together for #Healing4Kerry On Saturday 24th November we trended for 2.75 hours on Twitter.  I still have hopes of her being at home with her family for Christmas.  Our collective spirit inspired Nick, Multiple Mummy's husband, to put together this post including a video compilation of photos of their life.  It easily ranks as my favourite post of the year and no matter how many times I watch the video it includes (below) I still cry:
So in case there is anyone else who feels ready to do a roundup of the year, I will make this a linky.   Powered by Linky Tools Click here to enter your link and view this Linky Tools list...   Knock yourselves out :-) Liska xxx

My Five Favourite Christmas Songs - Christmas Playlist

Britmums and Coca-Cola have challenged us
 to do a

And I am joining in because I like the thought of drivers drinking Coke instead of alcohol when they are driving! The fact that there is an ipad mini up for grabs has absolutely NOTHING to do with it *coughs*

So this is my #FestivePlaylist

Mine would be:

NUMBER ONE:
Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea.
I hummed it all the way through #Healing4Kerry and there hasn't been a day since that the chords haven't struck a chord with me
Favourite line: "soon there'll be a freeway, get my feet on holy ground" - yes you will Kerry my darling, yes you will. xxxxx

NUMBER TWO:
Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin' Stevens.  This transforms me straight back to my youth when he was still famous, and I had his cassettes.  Yes, it reveals my age doesn't it ;-)
Favourite line: "People dancing all night long" - no secret that I like a BOOGIE!

NUMBER THREE:
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas - Bing Crosby
It has to be said, I love a bit of snow, and we had a dusting of it last week.  I'd personally love a white Christmas.  We'll be spending ours in Folkestone, where snow would look truly wonderful. Aaron would get so much joy out of playing with it.
Favourite line: "May your days be merry and bright"

NUMBER FOUR:
Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow - Dean Martin
Again, a bit of snow obsession here :-)

Favourite line: "If you really hold me tight, all the way home I'll be warm!"
and
"Oh the weather outside is frightful [it is] but the fire is so delightful!"
paints a lovely picture doesn't it!

NUMBER FIVE:
I have to end with a legend.  This song lifts you, and is timeless I think!
The Christmas Song, Merry Christmas to You - Nat King Cole
Favourite line: "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping on your nose!"
and
"tiny tots with their eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight!"

Post publish edit. I just HAD to come back and add on a number SIX:

NUMBER SIX:
Oh Holy Night - Celine Dion.
Had to insert something to bring us back to the true meaning of Christmas...
Favourite line: "Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of our deep saviour's birth"

So what are yours?
In fact don't tell me!
I want an ipad mini all to myself!
So you get busy doing something else!
Leave this linky for me, all me, just me, and me and me ;-)

Go! Go! Go! Play with some snow!
And if this Linky don't bring me an ipad mini, I want one from Santa!
Santa ya hear me!!!!!?????
Liska xxxx

P.S. If this post don't make you feel Christmassy then nothing will ;-)

Oh and by the way, we finally put up our tree, lights and decorations yesterday.  Aaron loved helping.

This is our tree and sitting room window:

Bye again

Bug Bear Meme - Children In Need and Pudsey Bear

I am sad that Pudsey's fundraising may be effected by the recent goings on with the BBC, so I am setting up this meme to remind you all that he will be starring in tonight's BBC Children in Need TV schedule.

So please watch it if you can and donate.

To make this meme fun I thought we could complete things in the letters of Pudsey's name.

P is for please. Aaron I am so proud of the way you always say please.
U is for untidy.  I struggle to keep up with the mess you make.  Your toys are EVERYWHERE!
D is for dancing.  You are so musical and love to dance the minute you hear music.
S is for sun.  At the moment you start everyday by saying "the sun came up".  You're my joy!
E is for everything.  Being two, you are into everything at the moment - you keep me on my feet.
Y is for yesterday.  Since you came along, yesterday is always important as there's always a fab photo or memory to look back on.

So I am not going to tag anyone, as this meme really needs to be completed today, as Children in Need is on TV tonight, so please join in if you have writer's block and are looking for bloggy inspiration today.

See you on the sofa, or on Twitter when we're all watching and tuning in later.

Yesterday at Aaron's nursery all the tots had to dress for the letter P.  Pirates, or Princesses or PJs.  Aaron wore his Pudsey PJs:

If you'd ever like to make Children In Need cupcakes, I know just the Domestic Goddesque to show you how.

Here's a linky list if you would like to join in:

Powered by Linky Tools
Click here to enter your link and view this Linky Tools list...

Due to blogger's dynamic template, the list won't be visible unless you click the link but I will manually link to anyone who joins in as well, and tweet.

AND without further ado, the first bloggers to take up the task are:
  1. Be More 4 Mums - great Pudsey video here and I love what she has said to spell PUDSEY
  2. Wendy from Inside the Wendy House just did an acrostic post which you can find HERE.
  3. Madhouse Family Reviews joined in too with this beautiful post full of pictures and inspiration.
And Wendy's just taught me a new word, via Facebook, when she told me about her above post:
a·cros·tic  (-krôstk, -krstk)n.
1. A poem or series of lines in which certain letters, usually the first in each line, form a name, motto, or message when read in sequence.
So we are showing our acrostic love for Pudsey :-)
Much love,

Liska & Aaron.

Inner Truth week 10

Inner Truth

Well here I am another week on, and I am still in the same situation as last week.  Still needing trust; still about to take a leap of faith.  It is scary scary times for me.

Guinness you can see me through :-) - this is me in Malta a couple of years ago....

BUT what this has taught me is that during times like this, beautiful people get even more beautiful.  Supportive people become ever more supportive.  Those you love, are more loving.  My beacons of strength are like life jackets, and I am clinging on for dear life.

I have spoken to my Mum about 3 times a day, every day since Monday, and she has taken me out of the depths of despair nearly every day.

I was in super spirits and soooooooooo optimistic, till Friday.  Friday: the bubble burst, and I went under.  Took a few people to help me change trains Friday evening, to go and collect Aaron from nursery - yes, I know I don't work Fridays, but I did.......

Then it was all looking up Friday night, from the bottom of two cans of Stella, till Saturday arrived and I really sunk into my boots and couldn't stop crying.

It really effected Aaron and for the 1st time in his life he wouldn't even have his afternoon nap.

But luckily I called the healer who cured my PND a few weeks back and he sorted me out.  I then had a super Saturday night, not only my usual self, but feeling fantastic.  Did loads of housework and phoned my Mum and we had loads of giggles.

Now today, Sunday, I decided to meet family friends on the way back from church and we spent the day in their garden with the super weather and they made lunch followed by a gorgeous dinner. And that was even though we had lunch in a cafe on the way there ;-)

Speaking of the cafe, Aaron had the WHOLE cafe laughing till they were crying, with his funny version of counting to ten!

But at the family friends, we were there from 14:30 to 21:30 and Aaron had so so so much fun - there are some photos on my phone - I will try and get the onto this post tomorrow (not tonight).

Anyway, it is beautiful, when you have beautiful people in your life.

This week, I do not know what I would have done without them to be honest.

On a good note, every spiritual resource I can get access to, have ALL confirmed it will be resolved within 2 weeks - so I am holding the space, keeping the faith and trusting!

Inner Truth

Apologies there was no Inner Truth post last week, but I kind of went off blogging in the last couple of weeks, for reasons that will become clear in a post that I will hopefully write tonight.

I have done a lot of soul searching in the last few weeks and have had it confirmed that I do have post natal depression.

Anyway, back to the Lemonade Diet (the Master Cleanse) - you have to do it for 10, 20 or 40 days, and I ended up doing 9 days.  I learned a lot about myself during that time, and lost a lot of weight.  I learned what the triggers are for me wanting to eat and it was revealing.

Also, since I came off it I have been craving healthy food and now even ages later my portion sizes are smaller, as my stomach shrunk and I am NOT going to expand it back as our portion sizes in the West are far too large anyway.

I will be doing the lemonade diet again some time in the not too distant future.

In the last couple of days I picked back up a book on my kindle that was bringing up "blocks" a few weeks ago.  It is called

How to Do Everything and Be Happy - Your Easy Peasy Guide to Creating Happiness (it's £1.99 on kindle)

After a few weeks of soul searching, I can actually now write "3 wishes" and even think about breaking them down into goals, which I could not do a few weeks ago.  I reached the same blocks when trying to read the excellent book:

The Mummy Whisperer's Six Steps To A Sparkling You And Enjoying Being A Mum (89p on kindle)

So, I am moving forward in my Inner Truth journey and EVEN thinking about picking up yoga again.  I taught for 6 years, up to being nearly 38 weeks pregnant and haven't struck a pose since Aaron was born.  Struck a couple yesterday though, but need to do an actual kriya.

Aaron's nursery is closing on Wednesday evening so I have Thursday off and the whole of the following week.  It is my first time experiencing school holidays, as Aaron only started in September and nursery doesn't have half terms.  I had hoped to go to Ireland but maybe I will just stay here and go inwards instead.

The good thing about my Inner Truth journey is that I am getting to know my strengths as well as my weaknesses.  I am actually starting to hear myself say "I am good at that" and "I could do that for you".

I hope you will link up and let me know how you are doing.

Inner Truth - Week 3

Hi

This is a Monday blog hop linky for anyone on a soul searching journey of inner change or personal development.

I write this post with a very heavy heart as it is the second Mother's Day in a row (the only 2 I have had given that Aaron is 21 months) and for both of them my husband has done NOTHING, yet on both, he had made a fuss of his Mum.

Suffice to say, I think I will have to leave the country for Mother's Day next year; I can't be doing with the disappointment of it, and seeing him on that day just rubs my nose in it.

Every time I walked passed adverts in the last few weeks I looked away - I had the dread one would have if approaching the anniversary of a death - ridiculous! Due to that avoidance, I didn't register the date and assumed it'd be early April like last year.  How could I forget April 2011, when it coincided with the same week that I went back to work after maternity leave.

Anyway, I was on my train home from work on Thursday, when someone said it was this Sunday, 18th March.  News to me!  I must have said shit a 1,000 times as my Mum's part of Ireland does not have post on Saturday and as it takes 2 days I would have needed to have posted her card on Wednesday...... I have never missed a Mother's Day for my Mum, and I couldn't order a last minute bouquet as she considers them a waste of money.

So me and Mum had about 3 phone calls with each other yesterday, and she kept me sane.  And I did not shed a tear.  Shed enough for a year last year.

So I royally cheated on my lemonade diet yesterday.......

Unsurprisingly the scales reflect it today.

I am looking a lot slimmer though.

I am sorry that I cannot be more upbeat. but with a name like Inner Truth, I had to be honest about where I am at.
