Mumentum - 2012 - Monday Linky and Blog Hop

The reason this Linky is being loaded up REALLY late on Sunday night - so late it is very nearly Monday, is because I have spent the last few hours reading up on some of the issues I wanted to address in this post.

I spent a long time on my old blog talking about weight loss and never lost any, and most weeks when I load up this linky (apart from the 4kg that fell off me in December 2011) I haven't lost any.

So what's a girl to do?

Well, I have gone through a lot of soul searching in the last 3 weeks, thanks to 3 books that I was reading on the kindle (I have blogged about all of them recently).  Each book made me encounter various blocks, and so I would put the book down, or in the case of kindle, buy another, which is how I ended up reading 3, in similar subject areas......

Now the blocks I am facing are that I need to start looking IN instead of OUT.  I need to address me.

So, that means dealing with my physical clutter, my body clutter, it necessitates a detox, in mind and body, and it is all underway.

Then and only then, will I be able to answer questions like WHAT makes me happy!?!?!?!?!?

So I even got to the stage where I thought Mumentum needs a new name.  It is a word that encapsulates the Mum Tum which is what it is all about.

However when we focus on clearing our debts, all the brain hears is debt and we attract more of the same.  I only cleared ALL of my debts, except the mortgage (before getting pregnant) when I started focusing on prosperity.

So what does that say about our Mum Tum challenge.  It is like focusing on the debt we want to get rid of (the Mum Tum), rather than the prosperity (in this case radiance) that we want to bring on.

SO I had a light-bulb moment this afternoon, and decided to change the name to #CurveLurve as I know most of us allow ourselves to stay this size as on some level we do like certain aspects of our size.  Let's admit it! Which bits do you really love.  I know I don't tend to wear baggy trackie bottoms; I tend to dress for my best bits - certainly when I am making an effort.

Anyway, I googled curve lurve and didn't necessarily like what I found.

I then spent HOURS brainstorming - hence the lateness of this post - and I came up with #InnerTruth.

What do you think?

Because I truly believe that when we walk this planet, walking our truth, walking our path, all the clutter (and weight) falls off.

But it means being brave (fear is a lower vibration) so it means addressing every area of your life where you feel afraid.  I did that recently with my You Tube video, and because I stepped up to the task, God held my hand.

And you know when you take the brave step forward, the leap is a leap of freedom.

So I ended up doing quite a bit of Googling and considering I was a Kundalini Yoga teacher for 6 years I was very happy to come across this. PLEASE FORGIVE THE SCARY SERPENT IMAGE.  The words on there are worth the read.

Some highlights being:

  1. The ability to make and break habits is associated with the navel center or third chakra. When our navel center is strong we have the will to make decisions and to keep them.
  2. The abdominal area is our power center. Women especially learn to hold in their stomachs. The result is a constant tension and continual blocking of our internal source of power. This is the area where our digestion and elimination is regulated. When we create stress by holding in our stomachs and have a negative attitude toward this part of our body, we interfere with our normal biological functioning. (This part of the body is where the Mum Tum resides, so fits in with my feeling that a rename is necessary).
  3. When the belly is relaxed, digestion and elimination can occur in a natural and peaceful matter. Imagine you were a large or small intestine and that you had to carry out your job under the adverse circumstances that we create by holding in our bellies, blocking the energy flow and cutting off the breath. You wouldn't get the job done properly, so matter how hard you tried.
  4. SELF-LOVE on an energetic level is our goal. For self-love to be real, we have to enjoy being in our bodies. This is of course a process that takes time. We have to be willing to feel uncomfortable and to experience our emotions. If we are willing, we will over time experience inner power and peace.
(We can't experience self-love if we are slating our Mum Tums!)

So what do you think? Would you feel much better if you loved yourself?  Wouldn't you ensure that what you ate was healthy if you really viewed your body as a temple? If you REALLY loved yourself, and what you stood for?

Anyway, I have decided to finally do the detox that I have been waxing lyrical about for a couple of years.  Now no matter how many times I blog about it, it doesn't seem to create the impetus to do it.

I knew I needed some external pressure (other than the blog) so I have that in 2 forms: (1) I have a Justgiving Page that will look pretty silly if it remains empty and (2) I am proposing to start my detox during the Do Something Yummy week for Clic Sargent which is running from 10th to 18th March.  With me, I need deadlines, or I do nothing! I am just glad that it starts the week after this, as I don't feel up to starting it right now.

And great that 10th is a Saturday, as then I can start the detox on my days off, (I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).  I wouldn't want to start a detox on a work day and certainly not the one I am proposing to do!

If anyone decides to join me, don't do so without reading the book as there is quite a bit to it.

Let me know your thoughts on a possible name change and don't forget to link up below.

Mumentum Monday Blog Hop Linky

Sometimes my Sunday *Mumentum* posts are negative, as I have not lost any weight, nor done any exercise.

And I am MEANT to be your cheerleader - that's what you are here for, or no?

Today's post is all about what I want to BE, rather than what I don't want to be.  There's a subtle difference.

With that in mind, I invite you to read a blog which I think it really inspirational:
http://www.skinnylattestrikesback.com/

It's  a blog I visited daily, back when I blogged at Liska Life.
Oh those were the days, with no *community* to worry about.

I recently popped along and was delighted to see how successful Philippa has been.

For the inspirational bit go here: http://www.skinnylattestrikesback.com/p/skinny-latte-story.html

So with it in mind that I want to move towards something, rather than away from something, (i.e. rather than focusing on where I am).  Like Becky in Corrie said "I'm more your going TO girl"

I am looking at pictures of me, that delight me, that will motivate me.

Ones just like this:

4kg fell off me in December due to stress at work, and I proudly announced it to you all.  I was in size 16 instead of 18 jeans.

Well Thursday I had to wear a long top to work as I could button the jeans but could not zip them up.  EVEN with lying down on the bed.

So something has to give.

I think I need to get up in the morning and do yoga everyday before Aaron gets up, or God forbid, take up running (I did run for the school, borough and County when I was a teenager).  Michelle has had great success with her Pilates.

** Anyway, here is where I want YOUR advice **

I have done 2 of Nickie's #DoSomethingYummy Clic Sargent writing prompts:
here and here.

But as it is all about raising money for children with cancer, I now want to move onto the fundraising stage, so with that it mind, I have set up a Just Giving page.

Now, what should I do... donate when I do... or donate when I don't... lose weight?

I was thinking of charging myself a penalty on fail weeks, OR, not buying lattes, and giving that money there, OR doing the 40 day Master Cleanse lemonade diet (that I have wanted to do for a few years now - I have also read the book on my kindle and really believe in it - oh and also, my friend does it once a year and gets so much energy from it she bounces off the ceiling and she is in her 50s) and getting sponsored to do it.

What would you advise?  Given that it is lent, I could give something up, to be on the Lemonade Diet, but I'd be starting late as technically Lent started on Ash Wednesday and it is now Sunday.

If I'd done to church last Sunday I would have known, but I missed it and only found out today - I felt so silly, knowing that it is such a significant part of the calendar and I needed to have the newsletter in my hand to realise.

I have only just set my Just Giving page up, so there are no funds on there yet - really looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

So I leave you with the Linky - that's what you came for right :-)

Please leave a relevant post and we will all go and give you some MUMENTUM.

I don't think I visited everyone last week - sorry *slaps wrist*.

Mumentum - Lose your Mum Tum in 2012

Hi

Well here I am opening up the Mumentum linky at 02:54 in the morning.

I hope you are all still with me.  For newcomers simply write a relevant post (about your wish to lose your mum tum) and link it up below.  Grab the code for the bottom of your post as that's what makes it a blog hop.

This week I have been reading 3 books, which could be classed as self-help books.  I am realising the journey to losing weight is not just about exercise and what you do/don't eat.

It started with me reading:

The Mummy Whisperer's Six Steps To A Sparkling You And Enjoying Being A Mum

(only 89 pence on Kindle Amazon).  This is the book of Lisa AKA the Mummy Whisperer.

A must read I would say. Favourite quote: "if you are always trying to be too nice, you will be a walk over and even loved ones will trample all over you take advantage of you".

Lisa has a bonus chapter on Weight Loss!!!

I then went on to read:

Housework Blues - A Survival Guide which made me say "hell yeah" more times than any book I have ever read. £2.49 on Kindle Amazon.

Favourite quote: "The cruel irony of housework. People only notice when you don't do it".

Now I am reading:

How to Do Everything and Be Happy.  I am only a couple of chapters in with this one but have already bought a diary. The book is £1.88 on Kindle Amazon.

Funny, you can get Mumentum in all sorts of places.  The hubby and I haven't really been talking this week (big divorce worthy blow up on 15th February) and we went for lunch today.  He told me that I am looking slimmer (you know how I have been saying I have gone from size 18 to size 16).  Anyhow, he said that until I did that, I was the biggest I have ever looked and he said even bigger than the size I was a year before our wedding (early 2001 before I lost 3.5 stone).  THAT was a wakeup call to hear that.

But then he went onto say how good I was looking today (now that it's 3 a.m. I should say yesterday).  I made an effort yesterday and didn't just throw jeans on.  To me, because I rushed out without jewellery, hair and makeup I wasn't the finished article, but he said he was looking at me in Tesco and I looked "stunning" and that because of the lack of makeup and pony tail it looked "effortless".  This made me realise how good it would be for my self-esteem if I made an effort everyday.  I am sure it would benefit weight loss too.

Anyway that gave me a bit of a boost.  What gave you some Mumentum this week?

Bye for now, Liska xxx

Mumentum

Hi All

I am so soooorrrryyyy that I did not do this post last night but I was just too tired.

And we didn't get up till 10 a.m. so I could not do it any earlier than this - sorry again.

So for the majority of the past week I was on my time of the month, so I did not eat sensibly in any way and consumed a whole load of sugar.

The size 16 jeans still fit, but they leave a horrid red mark across my stomach - yes they are tight! Very tight!

So this week, I will have to sort my life out.

I didn't buy the ingredients for the smoothies that the Spent book recommends - see previous post.

I hope some of you have had great weeks and can give the rest of us some much needed inspiration.

As I don't have any good news on the weight loss front I think I'd better just head straight to opening up the linky.

One thing I will say is that we can offer each other Mumentum in every area of life, i.e. Midlife Singlemum wrote a post about the dishes piling up and she gave me a boost in the comments of that post and as a result I caught up on ALL the laundry yesterday so am all set for going back to work tomorrow. Thanks. High five!

Spent? Mumentum

Hi All

I treated myself to an afternoon bath just now, as Aaron is next to Daddy having an afternoon nap (still asleep now).

I went to my 2 bookcases to choose a book for the bath and felt myself drawn to Spent? I got it (full RRP) at a book-signing event years ago, and have never adopted the recommendations it makes, even though so much of it fits with my core beliefs (i.e. anti aspartame, anti sugar, pro vitality etc...).

Anyway I just read the 1st two chapters in the bath and ladies, if we did half of what this book suggests, we'd have so much energy and the weight would fall off.

The 1st task is cutting out sugar. I personally did that in 2001 and lost 3 stone, I went from a size 16 to a size 12. My boss at the time couldn't understand it, as she still saw me eating McDonalds for lunch etc... but I kept telling her, I have CUT OUT SUGAR and felt loads, loads, loads better. I started drinking water instead of fizzy drinks, nuts instead of chocolate etc... etc... I know it works.

Anyway back to the book.

On page 5 he has a questionnaire to check if you are Spent? I take the liberty to reproduce it here:

  1.           Do you wake up in the morning and not feel refreshed?
  2. Do you feel unusually tired most of the time?
  3. Do you need coffee, soda, or sugary snacks to get going and keep going?
  4. Although you feel physically exhausted does your mind continue to race?
  5. Do you feel as if you are aging too quickly?
  6. Do you have gas, bloating, constipation, and/or indigestion?
  7. Is it a struggle to lose wight in spite of dieting and exercise?
  8. Do you have achy muscles and/or joints or tension in your body - particularly your neck and shoulders?
  9. Do you have a diminished sex drive?
  10. Do you often feel depressed or have trouble concentrating and focusing and remembering things?
  11. Have you found that little or nothing seems to rejuvenate you?
  12. Do you lack motivation to accomplish even small tasks?
  13. Do you find that you get sick more frequently and that it takes longer to recover.
Author: Spent? by Dr Frank Lipman

I won't tell you which one I said HELL YES to but I say yes to every single one - do you?

The great thing with this chap, is that he is a fully qualified medical Doctor and has studied Chinese Medicine, so he takes the best from all walks of life and sees the body in its entirety.

I am going to re-read the book and this time practice what it preaches.

He splits the book into weeks and splits those into do-able tasks called "Daily Beats".

The first one is "Create a Sweeter Life" and is about cutting out sugar.  He makes really good suggestions as to what to replace it with.

I will certainly be giving it a go once I buy the ingredients he suggests for smoothies.

I leave you with a Daily Mail tongue in cheek review of the book - she doesn't get passed chapter 1 but it makes interesting reading nonetheless - such an awful shame she did not give it a try, but then my book has been languishing on my bookcase for the last few years - I wish he'd dated it when he'd signed it, then I'd know how long.....

Bye for now, Liska xxx

Not About Winnie

Hi

Well blogging mums quite often talk about P**
And it is usually their children's p** as in the case of Multiple Mummy this week, whose post I read, and sympathised.

Anyway, I am doing the unusual thing of blogging about MY p**
So it started Sunday night with the big D which I will call Delhi belly....... Unusually this went on all day Monday and explosively all of Monday night.

Tuesday I felt normal, so with my ex-colleague, had a slap up lunch... Only trouble was, I did the same thing Wednesday (hubby took me for lunch for my birthday) and the same thing Thursday - again with 2 ex-colleague....

So 3 days of slap up lunches, yet no movements, and yesterday the size 16 jeans were STRANGLING my waist and probably damaging my insides....

I thought, only I, could have 2 days of D, and get tight jeans afterwards.

Anyway last night, the *coughs* movement occurred and today I feel a lot better.

But it reminded me about my Yoga days (I taught for 6 years) and we often used to have Kriyas about "elimination". It is a really important part of the body's functioning.

So I say to the Mumentum ladies, make sure that you are eliminating correctly - weight loss doesn't occur otherwise, but bloating surely does!

I really need to get healthy now in these coming weeks... I wouldn't normally write this sort of post but when I saw Kerry's I thought "why not!"

Mumentum - Monday Blog Hop for Mums losing their Mum Tums

Hi

Here we are another week.

Well I have spent the last week trying to eat what is left of Xmas, and it has shown on the scales.  I am not one for weighing myself as I believe it is nicer to go by how your clothes feel, and muscle is heavier than fat etc... but I wanted to see if I'd kept the 4kg off that I have been bragging about.

Well a week ago Publicasity gave me a YARD of JAFFA CAKES and the box contained individual boxes of jaffa cakes and suffice to say I am on my 3rd packet.  Yes, in a week!

So, I HAD gone from 95kg to 91kg, and I am now back up at 92kg, but I do not mind as the size 16 jeans are still fitting me, and I still feel slimmer and different! Something HAS indeed shifted - I have more self confidence.

So, here is the guilty YARD:

So, I have ALSO polished off the last of the Celebrations - this evening - which were ALL Mars Bars - not that I don't like Mars but I prefer everything else better!

So now, this week will see me eating healthily and only healthily.

Is Christmas also firmly behind you??? So that we can get a firm behind - ho ho ho!!!!!

Let me know......?

Now, over to you my little pesky pixies.

Lots of love, Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Mums losing Mum Tums - Monday Blog Hop

Hi

Well I am really looking forward to reading your #Mumentum posts. I haven't weighed myself so I don't know if the 4kg is still off, but the size 16 jeans are still fitting :-)

I am going to start a detox soon I just need to time it right.

Me and my aunt have said that we will be size 12 by April. I hope it is possible, and that I'll do it.

This was my favourite Mumentum post last week. It gave me a late night watching the video, but it was well worth it as the content is so thought provoking. And judging by how much Mama Owl has lost this week, I really need to read this.

Actually Michelle Twin Mum also uploaded a thought provoking video (yesterday) but nothing to do with Mumentum.

Bye for now - link up below - Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Monday Blog Hop for Mums losing weight

Hi All

Well it's more or less half way through January and I am still in my size 16 jeans.

I now need to go up a gear and start a detox sometime soon but I don't quite feel ready for that yet.

This is just a brief post to open the Linky really, as it is after midnight and I want to go to bed.

I will write a longer post tomorrow.

I will leave you with a picture of the jeans that I threw away this week.  Look closely and you will see that not only were they size 18 but I had continued to wear them despite the button* having POPPED off (under strain) months ago *that metal stud is where the button USED to be.  I used to hold them together with a belt AND wear a long top on top.  Oh the shame of it.

Glad they are in the BIN (since this week) and I am now in my 16s.  Remember nothing tastes as good as slim feels :-)

Reasons To Be Cheerful - anniversary edition

Hi

I don't want to think how long it has been since I joined in with #R2BC, but I know it has been toooo long. This is the badge if you would like to click through and see other entries to this wonderful link up.
Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

So back to me. December was a low month for reasons I do not want to go into on this blog, but suffice to say they were to do with work. It was a rollercoaster but I got through it. 23rd December saw me in tears but by that night I was in Toys R Us. It also meant that hubby put up the decorations by himself - EVEN the tree which in 23 years of being together and 10 years of living in this home, he has NEVER ever done. Me not being good at delegating that taught me a valuable lesson - people CAN do things even if they never have before and even without you showing them how :-)

So back to the reasons to be cheerful.

(1) Numero uno is a big one - I have lost 4 kg, so THAT has inspired me to start Mumentum again (return here Sunday), as I wasn't much of a cheerleader before when I wasn't leading by example. Mich who runs Reasons to Be Cheerful has been cheering me on to get it up and running again, so I will honour her by saying yes! and doing just that. Also I will be more committed to Reasons to be Cheerful as that is the very least I owe my blog chum :-)

(2) I am working tomorrow on my day off as there's a lot on this week, but next week should see the beginning of a new dawn - so let's see what that brings shall we.

(3) Aaron is just getting cuter and cuter and cuter - I have a lot of proud mummy moments to blog about and will as soon as I get a moment.

(4) I NEARLY set fire to the kitchen the other day (I WILL blog about it) suffice to say Weetabix do get HOT - I know their latest campaign is try them hot but I am sure that is not what they meant ;-) Oh, the reason this is a R2BC is that I averted the catastrophe. Just in case that wasn't clear.

(5) I am REALLY looking forward to March, which I feel is close, as I KNOW it will start getting warmer then. It is the only thing getting me through this hell week of weather we are having. The mornings are bloody dark, windy and GRIM at the moment. That did not help when I turned up at nursery Tuesday morning when they had not opened yet - Mummy fail!

(6) I feel that 2012 will be the year for me. I taught Kundalini Yoga for 6 years and like a lot of spiritual disciplines, we believe 2012 will see a year of transformation. I can ALREADY feel very different energy. But it will be challenging for a lot of us, as things will come out to be aired. Like the enormous row I had with my sister in law on New Year's Day. Things don't hide under the covers anymore with this new energy. Karma has to be cleared so we can all be more enlightened in 2012. Go with it and see where it takes you. If you do, it will bring good things - if you feel an inkling to be more spiritual go with it.

(7) I went to mass last Sunday and it felt good as I had missed 3 weeks. I am in the church choir and I love it.

(8) I got a really good deal from Kindle yesterday and am looking forward to my replacement arriving on Saturday. Their customer support is excellent.

I think that's all for now.

Liska xxxxx

As with Mumentum, this a blog hop so the other entries can be seen here.  Hop along:

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi All

I am doing what I have been doing for a few weeks now - just posting up the linky, so that those who are losing weight can do their weekly check in.

I still haven't got in the game myself.

Thanks to a bout of the big D for 4 days at the beginning of November I did shed a bit of weight around the tummy and I can feel that I have kept it off, but I have not weighed myself.

I am still yet to start the Lemonade Diet (aka The Master Cleanse)... and had intended doing so, so that I would look nice at the Tots 100 xmas party - kinda running out of time now though.

Most of the weight loss mummy bloggers I look up to, are waxing lyrical about Thinking Slimmer at the moment so I really ought to get me a slimpod.

Anyway, if you are in the Mum Tum game, or wanna be, sign up to the Linky below.

Then grab the code for the bottom of your related post, so that people can hop from blog to blog - this is a blog hop after all.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Mumentum is a weekly blog hop (Mondays) for Mums who want to lose their Mum Tums...

I haven't posted the #Mumentum Linky in a couple of weeks - sorry.

30th October I had Aaron's baptism party.
And last week, I ...... don't know what happened....

Anyway, I still haven't started my Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet but I have lost weight thanks to having 4 days of the BIG D a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't weighed myself but all my clothes are loser and the hubby has noticed too.

Anyway what are you all up to? Doing great things I should imagine.

Tell us all about it in a post and link to it below. Grab the code for the bottom of your post as that is what makes it a blog hop.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi Everyone

Sorry I am doing this so late. Makes it hard for people to enter the linky on a Monday - which is why I always used to load it up on Sunday night.

I wasn't lazy last night. Aaron vomited at 7.30 p.m. and continued to do so until 11 p.m. (a total of 5 times). Then he woke at 5 a.m. hungry and I waited till 6.30 a.m. before I felt safe to give him a bottle (as he wasn't keeping them down last night). He had 3 this morning and kept them all down. Thank God. But it all put pay to my intentions to get the Linky live on Sunday.

If you have been keeping an eye out for it all day, do forgive me. Please.

So back to Mumentum.

I am calling this the Who Am I post... Because...
  1. I am a slim girl inside a fat body
  2. I am a tidy person inside a messy person
  3. I am an early riser inside a late riser
  4. I am an organised person inside chaos
  5. I am a healthy person inside a bad eater
  6. I am a yoga teacher inside a sloth
  7. I am a know it all inside a know nothing
  8. I am a practicer inside a preacher
  9. I am spiritual inside a non thinker
Basically, when I am the person inside, my soul sings.  But unfortunately, 99.9% of the time I am the person on the outside, chasing my own tail, while quoting many and varied reasons for doing so.

When I occasionally honour the person within, I feel in line with the universe and EVERYTHING falls into place.  Only trouble is, it is rare.  And with a baby, it is becoming more and more rare.  And since being back at work, juggling work and baby, it is non-existent.  I am a yoga teacher who hasn't even done one asana since giving birth, and he is nearly 16 months old.

Anyway, what I KNOW from my spiritual knowledge is that when you put an intention out there, your soul starts preparing even before your body does.  Due to this phenomenon, I haven't enjoyed food for the last few days.  And why, because, I strongly believed when I wrote my Mumentum post last week, that I would start the lemonade diet on my days off that have just passed (I work Tuesday to Thursday so am back at work tomorrow). Because my soul THOUGHT I would stick to it, it was already lined up to be off food on a liquid diet. But I did not honour my intention.  I need to BUT I want to start it on days off so now need to wait till Friday PLUS you have to use B grade maple syrup and I haven't sourced it yet........ yawn zzzzzzz

But I have now booked Aaron's baptism (and party) for 30th October, and I want to look good for that, so I now have a deadline....... :-)

Anyway I have rambled enough, but hopefully I have opened up enough that you know where I am at.  I feel a bigger sense of clarity anyway.  Sorry I have waffled a little, but it felt right...

Here's the Linky.  Over to you.  Do you want to join me in a Who Am I Mumentum post?

Grab the "code" and place at the bottom of your post as that is what makes it a Blog Hop.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

I know it is no longer Monday but I just have to do this Mumentum post for my friend Mich.

She is a blogging die-hard extraordinaire and she gave me the nudge I needed to sit here in the dark, with Aaron asleep and the only thing illuminating this room is this laptop.

I used to be so good posting my Mumentum post and the Linky on a Sunday so that you could do your post on Monday before I got out of bed if you wanted..... but I have slipped, to say the least.

But here I am and I have just read Mich's Mumentum post here and been humbled by it.

Anyway I have had a few things going on both at work and at home that have seen me reaching for all the wrong foods so my Mum Tum is still out in force, but it is soon to meet its equal, in the form of the lemonade diet which I will be starting some time in the near future.

I bought the book for my much loved Kindle (yes I have been reading instead of blogging as a way of keeping my sanity).

Anyway, the book (for the lemonade diet) is called The Master Cleanser, and I have read it now twice.

I will do daily video diaries while I am on the diet so that'll be a good laugh :-)

Mich we met up at the Mads Awards on Friday, and while you didn't like the photo you posted in your Mumentum post, I think you will like this one.

At the MADS blog awards on Friday. Left to right: me, Super Amazing Mum, Bloggomy and Mummy from the Heart.

For those who don't know us, I am on the far left and Mich from Mummy from the Heart is on the far right.

Errrrrrrrrm I just found this FAB video from the Mad Blog Awards that includes me and Mich and my Mum Tum is firmly on display, although there aint anything firm about it :-)

My Mum Tum on Display

Hi

The ladies who participate in my weekly mum tum Mumentum Monday blog hop will know that I am a bit of a slacker and yet to get into the weight loss zone, despite having successfully done so in the past. But then it was 10 years ago this year that I lost 3 stone and maybe I don't have the same discipline.

Anyway, every girl needs an incentive and I would say this photo is a good one. It is one of hundreds of photos that were taken in Ireland - me and Aaron went for 16 days as all of my family are over there.

Anyway, this photo perfectly demonstrates my Mum Tum and even shows the c-section "ledge" or "shelf" at the bottom of it. THAT is what I hate. That gives me a certain degree of self-loathing.

Here's the pic:

As you can see, I have slim ankles, slim wrists, slim feet, even slim shoulders, but then it is like a balloon that someone's inflated certain parts of. Like I am wearing a body suit that does not belong to me.

I need to lose it..... I need to get motivated!!!

My gorgeous gorgeous Aaron.  This photo makes me want to sing:
BECAUSE YOU'RE GORGEOUS I'D DO ANYTHING FOR YOU........!

Monday MUMenTUM - Weekly Blog Hop to Lose your Mum Tum

Hi All

Here I am again, posting the linky, for all you enthusiastic Mumentum followers.

I need to become a follower myself.

I need to BEGIN...

I haven't even downloaded my Slim Pod from Thinking Slimmer yet.

Anyway, over to you. As usual, write a relevant post, grab the code below for the bottom of your post and add a link to your post in the easy to use Linky below.

I never have to say it as you do anyway, but share some blog love with each other and visit each other's posts. I never did last week (even though I normally visit everyone) because I was busy trying to settle Aaron in nursery and could think of nothing else.

Work is quite busy too, which sees me reaching for all the wrong foods.

Onwards and upwards this week.

Best of luck to you all.

Lots of love,
Liska

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Another week.....

Well I am not jumping on the scales as I know I haven't lost anything - sorry ladies.

But the thing that has been stressing me out (and making me pig out) came to an end on Thursday, so fingers crossed it is onwards and upwards for me now.

I am yet to download Thinking Slimmer and I just know that will be the making of me; it has worked for so many other bloggers I know and love.

So for anyone new, this is a Monday link up for Mums who want to lose their Mum Tums.

I usually provide the link up on Sunday night.

Simply write a relevant post, add it to the linky below and "grab the code" that makes it a blog hop and it means people can hop from your post to visit other people.

Have a great week. Lots of love,

Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Apologies that I did not load up this linky post yesterday but we were out all day and I lay down to put Aaron to bed and did not feel like getting up to turn on the laptop - I tried to force myself and still couldn't.

My week involved a lot of ups and downs, and what I ate reflected that.

I still haven't downloaded Thinking Slimmer but am hoping to do so today.

Anyway over to you.

For newbies, all you have to do is write a post that is relevant to losing your Mum Tum and then hopefully we will give you some MumenTum.

Add the link to that post below, and grab the code, which is what makes it a blog hop.

We tweet under the hashtag #Mumentum and there is a "Mumentum" List on Twitter where you can find all the ladies who are members.

New Leaf - New Day - New Me

Hi

I made a discovery today.

If you are stagnant, you stagnate.

If you don't move, nothing moves.

If you don't expend energy you don't create or receive any.

If you don't have fun with your son, he no longer kisses you.

If you laze around you become a sloth.

If you do all of the above and graze on nibblies instead of 3 meals a day, you get fat.

If you get fat you lose your self esteem.

If you lose your self esteem you continue to get fat.

Well today the tide turned.

I moved. I got Aaron and I ready in an hour. It was a spur of the moment thing and for only the third time in his little life, we went to the soft play area.

He loved it, I loved it, my spirit loved it. I talked to all the other Mums and actually for the first time ever, enjoyed their company.

We came back and I felt a change. Something had shifted. The stagnation had shifted.

The first thing that was new, was I emptied and sorted my handbag - boy did that need doing.

With the boost that gave me, I cooked and me and Aaron gobbled it down.

He started kissing me again. He recognised that his Mum, his real Mum was back. Back in the room and back in the game. He knew she'd gone but it took her a while to realise.

I then cleared the bedroom and the sitting room of all my clutter, which was made possible by the fact that my late night boy, having played in the soft play area was IN BED BY 8 O'clock and IN HIS COT. THIS is special as I normally have to go to bed WITH him which puts an end to my evening and to be honest I resent it.

But tonight, tonight I have had an evening like other Mums have, and I literally have not stopped.

The husband will not recognise the place when he gets in.

Don't get my wrong, Aaron has woke 4 times between 8 and 10:30 but EVERY time I have held him, in the room, back to sleep and then placed gently back in the cot and he is there now.

I will do a bit more and then I will go to bed BEFORE midnight as I want to go to work tomorrow feeling refreshed.

Anyway something has shifted and it shifted BECAUSE I got my fat arse off the sofa and took us out there to participate in life.

My first couple of weeks back at work (in April) we always enjoyed my days off and did things, but then I started to make 6 people redundant and then alot of my days off became pyjama days. I went into myself.

BUT I am back now. And I am happy again.

And I am hoping this will be reflected in weight loss.
