Fitting Into Clothes Again while Shape Shifting instead of Losing Weight

Have you ever done that thing, where you lose bumps and lumps rather than weight. It's always the husband who notices first. Traditionally, the first place I would lose weight would be my stomach, and jeans would get loose, so I would normally notice it immediately.

This time, as I am not consciously or deliberately losing weight, it's come off my back of all places, and it means it's easier to hug me, which is one of the reasons hubby noticed. His pointing it out, meant I tried on an outfit from Primark that I bought this time last year.

Rewind: I was in the queue, in Primark, and the lady in front of me took it out of her basket and threw it on the queue barrier. I don't know WHAT mood I was in, but I picked it up, loved it, saw that it was a size 18, thought: "it'll fit" and shamelessly put it in my basket, with a smile to her - I think I said something to her, at the time, but for the life of me I cannot remember what.

Anyhow, I was very sad and surprised when I got home and could not fit into it. It's a playsuit/jumpsuit, which zips up at the back and is formal on top but only shorts down below. I could not even get one leg in. It wasn't a case of getting it on and not being able to zip it up. So I guess, it is not just my back that has lost "weight" but perhaps my legs/thighs too.

This is the moment, Sunday 12th April 2015, when I happened to try it on and discovered that it fits now:

The only thing I can attribute it to, is having dinner earlier, as a consequence of now being a school Mum. Aaron started school September 2014, and now Monday to Friday is a much stricter routine than we have ever had. He gets home starving marvin, so we have to have a proper dinner, and obviously it is at a reasonable time (though not always, as we are often in the park for hours after school). Yesterday I predicted this, so brought him roast chicken and potatoes in a Tupperware container, to eat after school, to tide him over till we got home. He ate "dinner" again when he got in, and still said he was hungry. Either he has hollow legs, or it's a growth spurt. Personally, being that he is 5 in a couple of weeks, I think he has entered that boy stage, where the price of your weekly shop goes up because they eat everything in sight. Well he is VERY active, so I have always seen this coming. Thankfully he likes "proper food" and not sweets, and that has had a knock on effect on me too. It kind of started with me though, to give myself some praise, as I have always audibly criticised sugar in his presence, as it aggravates my plantar fasciitis. For a snack I'd always encourage him to have hummus on toast rather than an unhealthy snack, although don't get me wrong we are both partial to crisps and other naughty things.

Anyway, the progress I have now made and recognised, in fitting into this playsuit has spurred me on, so as you have seen in my previous Dear So and So blog post, I wore the same outfit to Talk To Mums on 24th April.

I want to do something drastic now, in the coming weeks, like a detox, as I would love to get out of the "obesity" section on the BMI calculator and am just thankful that I am not in the severe obesity section. Before I had Aaron I was regularly on the Wii Fit and that used to show me my BMI. It's funny, but the last two videos I have posted on my You Tube channel are exactly a year apart, and I can see the progress on my face for example.

I know I can do even better and haven't had the get up and go to do so before now, but this progress and BritMums Live being on the horizon have certainly spurred me on. I have been to the conference at The Brewery every year since 2011, and this was the first year I could not afford to buy a ticket, and haven't taken the time to pitch to or secure a sponsor. So I was OVER THE MOON to be asked to be a Butterfly the day before yesterday, as it now means I can go. Hence my excitement to upload that Butterfly video that I recorded this time last year, when I last did it.

Now I need to work on hair and makeup, so that I look like this more often than once a year. I used to be quite vain in my 20s, and always made an effort. Once I got into yoga in my 30s, I wrongly thought that beauty was shallow. I'd go to Ireland, and my Mum would say "can't you at least put some lipstick on" or "straighten your hair" or "that doesn't suit you". I went through a brief phase in my days of working in Monsoon Accessorize, where I did make an effort, sometimes just so that my hair and makeup would look as good as the colourful clothes that I was wearing thanks to a VERY generous staff discount. However my career took a turn, with my next employer, that saw me doing 12, 14 and 16 hour days, and I put work first and health/wellbeing last, often going to Burger King on the way home and Pret on the way in. I then had Aaron and I could/should say that it changed to putting him first but sadly, work had me working in my maternity leave, and within 2 years of that we were going into administration, which was a shame, as by then I was contracted 3 days a week, yet working more like 6, thanks to my BlackBerry being surgically attached to my hand. My career thus ended July 2012, with redundancy, but the horrible statutory kind thanks to being the last one to leave, as I literally turned off the lights and closed the doors on the way out, having put everyone else first and myself last as usual. Staying on a sinking ship is a phrase for a reason.

I've gone off on a tangent but how this links to weight loss is that I did lose weight February/March 2012 and was feeling GREAT, but the minute the insolvency/administration process started in May, I saw myself often with beer in one hand and crisps in the other...

Astrologically this is the year of the divine feminine and as with Elsa in Frozen, it is now time to Let it Go, and take off the shackles of the past. There's a beautiful girl underneath my cloaks; I just need to let her shine.

Bye for now, Liska x

Wobbles Wednesday

Hi

I am linking up with Naked Mum, to let you know what I am doing about my wobbles.  I have been meaning to link up with this #WobblesWednesday for weeks.

My story:

Well, basically, at the end of the Summer I got an all singing all dancing JUICER, and I was juicing with Aaron everyday.  I went to a birthday party and was fitting into tight jeans and a tight shirt.  I'd gone from size 18 to 16 and things were looking goooood, and energy levels were up (that final point is really significant when you have a highly energetic active two year old).

Anyway, I then won a biscuit barrel in a Twitter competition (or party as they like to call them) and I ate all of the 5 packets myself and didn't really look back.  I went into a Winter Wonderland of eating, lounging and low energy levels.

Well now, enough is enough, so over on my other blog I have laid down the gauntlet for people to join me on a 40 day challenge starting 4th February 2013.  The initial post is here, and the follow up post with some pre-start homework is here.

I have promised myself to have a Spring in my step for Spring.

If you want to join me, I will be vlogging everyday, and giving you examples of meditations, mantras, or breathing techniques that I am using.

It will be a 40 day journey where we are radiant beings by the end of it.

I've got my Vitamix Back In Action

I am a BIG Vitamix fan.  I've had one since 2007 or 8 and it makes great soups and smoothies.

I bought mine at the Vitality Show.  Because it cost me £399 I did not take the decision lightly and spent about an hour and a half at the stand watching about 8 different demos.  It saved me between £8 and £12 right there and then as I did not need to buy lunch or snacks as I sampled soup, ice cream, smoothies, frappuccino, and untold other things... very delicious... very nutritious and very filling.

Back then I used to regularly buy frappuccinos at Starbucks and as they used to cost me about £3.50 a pop, I figured I'd get my money back relatively quickly.  Anyway I pondered it for quite some time, weighed it up against the cost of Innocent Smoothies and made my purchase.

I used it a lot and even more so when I brought it into work and my Managing Director made me soup every day.  But I did not take it home for my maternity leave and got completely out of the habit of using it.

Fast forward to 2010 and I popped into work during my maternity leave and decided to bring it home.  I used it once and then left it in the corner of the kitchen.

The next bit is rather embarrassing to say the least.  I left it dirty in the corner of the kitchen, and due to post natal depression that was where it stayed, like a dirty secret.  It was slightly out of sight down the side of the microwave.  Sometimes I'd barely have chance to wash the dishes, as I used to spend HOURS on the sofa breastfeeding Aaron, let alone do a big clear out.  Whenever I spied it, I couldn't face dealing with it as it looked black inside.  It represented all I wanted to avoid in life - it became symbolic.

Anyway roll on to Brit Mums Live 2012 and there was a Vitamix chap there (same one as Vitality) doing great demos, and again I stood and sampled lots of them, feeling embarrassed that I have never used mine to make ice cream.

Vitamix at Britmums Live 2012
I got chatting to the Marketing Lady and admitted to the state of my jug, confession style.  I said that thanks to the vaccuum the lid makes, it didn't go mouldy - only black :0

She offered to send me a replacement and it finally arrived only last week.  At first I was disappointed as it was a 32oz jug instead of a 64 oz, but then I decided to class it as an addition instead of a replacement, like a brother for my current one :-)

So I opened the lid with trepidation.  The residue in there smelled like soil, kinda peaty like - eeewwww.

I washed it thoroughly.

I soaked it in Milton twice.

It was then sparklier than ever!  I was pleased.  Again it was symbolic; maybe I, like my jug, can scrub up well :-)

And now, I can use my juicer AND my Vitamix, meaning I have the flexibility to make juices AND smoothies.  Very excited.

My energy is at an all time low and I was to lose weight and get slim before the big 4 0.  So now it is time to get juicing.

So last week I got out my recipe book and inserted the following into my Vitamix:
  • 2 peeled oranges
  • 2 large slices of fresh pineapple
  • An apple
  • 3 cups of cold water (I did not have ice)
  • 1 banana
  • A dessert spoon of honey
Absolutely delicious.

So now I have two jugs which means I can use the small one when I just want to make something for Aaron and I.

Here's the juice I described above:

As you can see it makes loads, and is a lovely refreshing frothy smoothie.

Love it.

Love that me and my Vitamix are back in action. Now I am on the lookout for more healthy Vitamix recipes, as I want to start using it more often.

Say No To Sugar!

There's a group of ladies who have just started #WWback2best - a weight watchers challenge to lose weight.

Well I want to lose weight with them
  • before Mumsnet Blogfest
  • before Christmas
  • before I am 40!!!!!
I have been reading a lot and I think what we all need to do is give up refined sugar and restrict man made carbs (the latter certainly in the evening).

I am finding this basic principle time and time again underpinning various philosophies.  I keep bumping into this information.  In the last couple of weeks, literally again and again and again, all in different guises!

And I know it to be true.  In 2001 I lost over 3 stone, going from a big size 16 in February to a slim size 12 by June, in time for my wedding that October.  I didn't alter my diet at the time (i.e. I still had the occasional McDonalds but I eliminated sugar & desserts & fizzy drinks & caffeine and ramped  up my water intake.  Looking back I remember, every time I fancied crisps I ate nuts and every time I fancied bread I ate Ryvita.  What was amazing was the way the weight melted away!

The main focus was giving up sugar, and white carbs (like bread).

I have been reflecting a lot, (1) because I want to do it again but mainly (2) because I keep stumbling across the information, like I am being told "HELLLLLLOOOO" "do this!".

Reflecting now, back to 2001, has reminded me of three things.  I didn't actually do it for the imminent wedding even though yes I told everyone I will lose weight before the wedding but what actually motivated me most was that in 2000 I got really really really bad IBS.  I went to the Doctor and he prescribed Charcoal, which had me waking up in the middle of the night DOUBLED UP in pain! The other motivator was I had PCO.  And as if that wasn't enough, due to the IBS I felt queezy for about an hour everytime I needed to empty my bowels.  This wasn't pleasant when I was at work.  I have always been a conscientious workaholic and I was a Senior Office Manager at Next at the time, and it was not good that I'd not be able to concentrate for an hour if I needed to go and sit on the loo.  We constantly had a HUGE sweetie box at work, and I couldn't help but notice that on the days when it was empty, and I refrained, my symptoms would almost disappear, even more so if that occurred for 2 days in a row.  I mentioned it to the Doctor who was patronising and said it was a coincidence!

But the second thing that motivated me was that my Vietnamese friend got married.  I got plastered at her wedding, and the next morning, when I got up, I was standing in the kitchen after putting the kettle on, and I passed out and as I fell I hit the cooker.  This scared the living daylights out of me, so I did not touch a drink for EIGHT months.  I started having the ocassional drink to ready myself for my hen night, 8 months after that incident, which means my friend's wedding must have been in Spring.  Alcohol clearly contains sugar and my body could not cope with it!

What I haven't said above, is that between the PCO being diagnosed, and me later going for a follow up scan, they had disappeared as a result of my diet changes and weight loss.

So in those months that I lost all that weight, I had no sugar, no bread, no alcohol, no caffeine, drastically increased water intake, no desserts and no fizzy drinks.  I KNOW that I need to do it again.  FFS it has been 11 years since I last did it, it is about time.  And I write this post with a large latte next to me, that I bought on the way back from dropping Aaron at nursery.  That's even though I publicly said a couple of weeks ago that I was drinking my last coffee.

I (twice) a long time ago went to Anthony Robbins' conferences (Unleash The Power Within) and he says to make a change, the pain has to be severe enough to motivate you.  I really believe that the IBS, the PCO and the fainting, all ramped up the pain, to motivate the change.

I guess I am not feeling enough pain at the moment.

I am currently reading Slim 4 Life by Jason Vale, and Hungry For Change on my Kindle.  They both say all the things I already know; I just need to do it.  It is so funny as they BOTH mention Anthony Robbins and Jason Vale is featured in the Hungry for Change video.  It is like all my influencers over the years are all in the same gang.  I just need to start listening to them, taking it on board, and MAKING THE CHANGES.

Gosh if I was blogging in 2001 I would have been such an inspiration.  Size 16 to size 12 between February and June.  I was so so dedicated and commited - I think the IBS, PCO and the fainting scared the shit out of me.  I remember I had so so much energy, and if I occasionally weakened and had say a Snickers, I'd have one bite and spit it out as my body adapted to the lower sugar levels.

I really implore you to watch this video and this video, and if you think this knowledge is never reported in the mainstream media, it is.  Quickly googling the words I chose for the subject heading for this post, took me to this.  Look what she achieved in 4 short weeks, no wonder it was so easy for me also in 2001.  Interestingly on that last link, there is a commenter saying there is no link between sugar and PCO.  I would disagree and state clearly that mine disappeared in the SAME timeframe that I gave up sugar and lost weight!

Anyway, I also want to type up a big section from a chapter of Slim 4 Life, to show you, why giving up sugar has such an amazing effect on the body, but I have run out of time, but basically it is all to do with the pancreas, the liver, and insulin.  Once you sort those out, your body goes BACK into equilibrium, perhaps for the first time in YEARS, and you STOP craving sugar - simples!

More coming soon,

Liska xx

Reasons To Be Cheerful - anniversary edition

Hi

I don't want to think how long it has been since I joined in with #R2BC, but I know it has been toooo long. This is the badge if you would like to click through and see other entries to this wonderful link up.
Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

So back to me. December was a low month for reasons I do not want to go into on this blog, but suffice to say they were to do with work. It was a rollercoaster but I got through it. 23rd December saw me in tears but by that night I was in Toys R Us. It also meant that hubby put up the decorations by himself - EVEN the tree which in 23 years of being together and 10 years of living in this home, he has NEVER ever done. Me not being good at delegating that taught me a valuable lesson - people CAN do things even if they never have before and even without you showing them how :-)

So back to the reasons to be cheerful.

(1) Numero uno is a big one - I have lost 4 kg, so THAT has inspired me to start Mumentum again (return here Sunday), as I wasn't much of a cheerleader before when I wasn't leading by example. Mich who runs Reasons to Be Cheerful has been cheering me on to get it up and running again, so I will honour her by saying yes! and doing just that. Also I will be more committed to Reasons to be Cheerful as that is the very least I owe my blog chum :-)

(2) I am working tomorrow on my day off as there's a lot on this week, but next week should see the beginning of a new dawn - so let's see what that brings shall we.

(3) Aaron is just getting cuter and cuter and cuter - I have a lot of proud mummy moments to blog about and will as soon as I get a moment.

(4) I NEARLY set fire to the kitchen the other day (I WILL blog about it) suffice to say Weetabix do get HOT - I know their latest campaign is try them hot but I am sure that is not what they meant ;-) Oh, the reason this is a R2BC is that I averted the catastrophe. Just in case that wasn't clear.

(5) I am REALLY looking forward to March, which I feel is close, as I KNOW it will start getting warmer then. It is the only thing getting me through this hell week of weather we are having. The mornings are bloody dark, windy and GRIM at the moment. That did not help when I turned up at nursery Tuesday morning when they had not opened yet - Mummy fail!

(6) I feel that 2012 will be the year for me. I taught Kundalini Yoga for 6 years and like a lot of spiritual disciplines, we believe 2012 will see a year of transformation. I can ALREADY feel very different energy. But it will be challenging for a lot of us, as things will come out to be aired. Like the enormous row I had with my sister in law on New Year's Day. Things don't hide under the covers anymore with this new energy. Karma has to be cleared so we can all be more enlightened in 2012. Go with it and see where it takes you. If you do, it will bring good things - if you feel an inkling to be more spiritual go with it.

(7) I went to mass last Sunday and it felt good as I had missed 3 weeks. I am in the church choir and I love it.

(8) I got a really good deal from Kindle yesterday and am looking forward to my replacement arriving on Saturday. Their customer support is excellent.

I think that's all for now.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Apologies that I did not load up this linky post yesterday but we were out all day and I lay down to put Aaron to bed and did not feel like getting up to turn on the laptop - I tried to force myself and still couldn't.

My week involved a lot of ups and downs, and what I ate reflected that.

I still haven't downloaded Thinking Slimmer but am hoping to do so today.

Anyway over to you.

For newbies, all you have to do is write a post that is relevant to losing your Mum Tum and then hopefully we will give you some MumenTum.

Add the link to that post below, and grab the code, which is what makes it a blog hop.

We tweet under the hashtag #Mumentum and there is a "Mumentum" List on Twitter where you can find all the ladies who are members.

New Leaf - New Day - New Me

Hi

I made a discovery today.

If you are stagnant, you stagnate.

If you don't move, nothing moves.

If you don't expend energy you don't create or receive any.

If you don't have fun with your son, he no longer kisses you.

If you laze around you become a sloth.

If you do all of the above and graze on nibblies instead of 3 meals a day, you get fat.

If you get fat you lose your self esteem.

If you lose your self esteem you continue to get fat.

Well today the tide turned.

I moved. I got Aaron and I ready in an hour. It was a spur of the moment thing and for only the third time in his little life, we went to the soft play area.

He loved it, I loved it, my spirit loved it. I talked to all the other Mums and actually for the first time ever, enjoyed their company.

We came back and I felt a change. Something had shifted. The stagnation had shifted.

The first thing that was new, was I emptied and sorted my handbag - boy did that need doing.

With the boost that gave me, I cooked and me and Aaron gobbled it down.

He started kissing me again. He recognised that his Mum, his real Mum was back. Back in the room and back in the game. He knew she'd gone but it took her a while to realise.

I then cleared the bedroom and the sitting room of all my clutter, which was made possible by the fact that my late night boy, having played in the soft play area was IN BED BY 8 O'clock and IN HIS COT. THIS is special as I normally have to go to bed WITH him which puts an end to my evening and to be honest I resent it.

But tonight, tonight I have had an evening like other Mums have, and I literally have not stopped.

The husband will not recognise the place when he gets in.

Don't get my wrong, Aaron has woke 4 times between 8 and 10:30 but EVERY time I have held him, in the room, back to sleep and then placed gently back in the cot and he is there now.

I will do a bit more and then I will go to bed BEFORE midnight as I want to go to work tomorrow feeling refreshed.

Anyway something has shifted and it shifted BECAUSE I got my fat arse off the sofa and took us out there to participate in life.

My first couple of weeks back at work (in April) we always enjoyed my days off and did things, but then I started to make 6 people redundant and then alot of my days off became pyjama days. I went into myself.

BUT I am back now. And I am happy again.

And I am hoping this will be reflected in weight loss.

Hi

I am going to be different this week, and do a post of my own (tomorrow) that I will add to the Linky.

For now, with it being nearly midnight and me having work tomorrow, I simply open the Linky forthwith :-)

For newcomers, below are the criteria
  • You are a Mum
  • With a Mum Tum
  • Who needs some Mumentum to lose weight, get fit, get healthy or ... all 3
  • Please write a relevant post and that is the post that should be added to the Linky.  It can be a slightly older one, if you have a relevant one already, and you can write a fresh one for us next week.
I am not a rules type blogger but last week there were about 8-12 Links that I had to remove and it is tedious so I guess that's why rules get invented and here they are.

Lots of love and I hope you either had a good week, or have plans for having a good week in the coming week.

On my homepage you can find a link to the biogs of people who are already part of Mumentum - we are a friendly bunch.

And if you are looking for daily chat on Twitter we can be found tweeting at #Mumentum.

Bye for now,
Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum - woe is me violin time ...

It's that time of the week once again. MumenTum for ladies with a Mum Tum.

I load this on Sunday in case anyone wants to do their Monday post a day early, or tonight.

This blog hop is open to anyone with a Mum Tum.  Either write in the comments if you don't have a blog, or write a post and add it to the linky below.  When doing so, grab the code whilst there, so that you can have the linky list at the bottom of your post tooooooo - that's what makes it a blog hop.

Please don't link to your whole blog; add a link that goes straight to a relevant post.  We're a lovely group of ladies and you can read about us all at the biogs that I mention below.

You can skip my waffle and go straight to the linky if you like. I promise I won't be offended - okay, only a little bit ;-)

Since Mumemtum started I have been an organiser rather than a doer...
In self-help speak that is a spectator rather than a participator (you have to say that with an American accent)...
I organise the weekly linky...
I organise hooking people up on email...
I organised us voting on which hashtag to use which results in the hashtag #Mumentum...
I organised everyone sending me their biogs so that I could list them here...
When people show an interest in Mumentum I add them to a Twitter "list"...
I appear very organised but here's the truth...
Me - The MumenTum Cheerleader!
Since Mumentum's been running I only did one food shop and that was the resentful one I blogged about, where hubby skulked off to the Tesco cafe with Aaron and I stomped around by myself (1. because it was his idea to go food shopping and 2. I normally order online and have it delivered).  Well another set of days off have gone (I am working tomorrow) and I haven't done a food order.
And every good dieter knows that you can only eat healthily if you have the right foods in.
Work has been the only thing on my mind the last few weeks........ to the exclusion of all else, and I don't eat well when I am focusing too much on work.

How have we survived? Well I have popped to Sainsbury's or Co-op a few times, for a handful of items and the husband gets things on his way home from work, but we haven't had proper healthy food in, and it's been my downfall.  I did have a beautiful salad for lunch yesterday and again today though (because I walked to the shops in the rain on Friday, but as I don't drive I only got what I could carry).... Why I haven't done an online order I just do not know!!!

Being busy at work has also meant that I haven't organised anything for Aaron's birthday.......... but I secretly want to have a party for his baptism instead which I am hoping will be in August.  Anyway, I still haven't bought his present, which we were meant to do in Argos today, but me and the husband fell out instead....

So here I am trying to write an inspiring Mumentum post and feeling sorry for myself instead...

I have done some Googling though and I am trying to find out what one should have for breakfast when one is on an anti-candida diet..... starting the day with sugar (my usual jam on toast) sets you up for a fall and puts you on the rollercoaster of sugar rushes you are meant to avoid when suffering from Candida.

I'll go and weigh myself now, to see if I miraculously have any good news on that front....

I'm back.  First piece of good news, I haven't put on any weight! Second piece of good news, I have kept off the 2 pounds that I'd lost this time last week.

So yes, I ermmmmmm need to get a little serious and errrrrmmmmm a little focused, if anything is going to happen here.

Otherwise I will just be the MumenTum cheerleader, watching you all continuing to do very well while I wave my pom poms :-)

If you can't Lose it! Hide it!

Hi All

I want to enter this post into Karen's Blog Hop:

Make Me Yummy

In 2009 the husband and I went to Krakow in August, before we fell pregnant in September.  I blogged about it on my old blog here.

As it says, I was 13.5 stone then...... whereas now I am 15 stone :-(
A few weeks after having Aaron I was 88kg, yet now I am 95kg.

It is because, the last few months, instead of having 3 meals a day (like I did from his birth to December last year) I have been grazing on rubbish and not cooking. Also, I guess Aaron is breastfeeding less, which is having an effect - like it is on some of the other Mumentum Ladies.

Going back to work hasn't helped as it has seen me comfort eating to deal with stress.

Anyway, yesterday I wanted to wear a sleeveless top as it was very very hot.  This is where Krakow comes in.  When I went clothes shopping for that trip I bought 3 vest tops from Marks & Spencers and they were hold it all in ones.

Put one on under my top yesterday and this was the result.

You wouldn't know I was holding a 3-fold Mum Tum under there.

The effect is amazing, and I will have to do it more often whilst I am waiting for any weight loss to kick in.

Anyone reading this who thinks I am vain.  I have the frame of a 10.5 stone person and the body of a 15 stone person. It is not fun, it is not healthy and it is not good for my mobility or heart - it is NOT about vanity.

I want to be able to run around the park with Aaron when he's old enough to run.

I want to start doing yoga again.

Bye for now, Liska

Boot Cut Boot Camp Bootie!

Hi All

A few of us are starting a "plan" and it involves shifting some inches.

We start tomorrow.

Here's my motivation.  Let's call it Motivation Monday shall we....... or will I get in trouble because that already exists *commercial break while New Mum Online goes and checks* [talk amongst yourselves for a moment]...... hhhhhm it does.... wouldn't you know it, it's already done here.

Well does it have to have a name.....?

Here are my reasons to shed some fat.

  1. Just look at this photo! Look at the arms on that! This is a zoomed in version of the photo I used for the "green" post that I submitted for last week's "The Gallery".  Everyone left sympathetic comments that I looked great and that my arms weren't big, so I thought I would magnify the situation to help it drum home, to me at least [thanks for your kind words though...].
  2. When I went shopping for my return to work clothes (after maternity leave) the size 16s wouldn't fit...... but I bought them anyway... ooopsss.  Husband does NOT know that.... he looked after Aaron while I shopped and it was a VERY tense weekend to say the least.  Although the whole day was about shopping, I only left them alone in a cafe in Debenhams for ONE HOUR.  By the way the husband greeted me upon my return you would have thought I'd left them for a whole day.... I didn't dare tell him that I'd bought jeans that I would have to shrink into.... the shrinking needs to commence... I have been wearing OLD jeans to work.  I wouldn't mind but I left them BOTH with food....
  3. The husband was watching a home video the other day... he told me about it that night and I said what were you watching THAT for? In THAT video I was the fattest I have ever been. He looked shocked, and gave me a wake up call. He informed me that I am bigger NOW ......... WTF!!!!!
  4. I'd like to have pride in myself - I don't have that when I am the size I am now.  We watched a home video yesterday of our time in Japan in 2004, and I didn't recognise myself.... I looked GOOD.   VERY good and it made me sad as it was like I was looking at a different person.........
  5. When Aaron is old enough to care about what people look like I want him to be proud of his Mummy and not embarassed if she is waiting at the school gates.
I'm gonna leave it there for now, and save my energy for watching what I eat this week.

It's not even baby weight as I looked better in December than I do now.  In August the Dr weighed me at 88 kg, whereas a few weeks ago the Dr weighed me at 95 kg WTF!!!!!!!!!

Let the weight loss commence..... I NEVER thought that would be a topic on here, that was what Liska Life (my old blog) was for.....

These ladies are starting a plan with me. Tell us about it ladies:
