MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Just opening the #Mumentum Linky for those still with me - due to my lack of being a mentor and my poor leadership, this Linky has declined a little but I am opening it up for the few faithful. You are doing so so very well.

I still feel a little slimmer but haven't weighed myself. Haven't started dieting as of yet though, but the belt on the old jeans is definitely loose :-)

For any new followers, what you do is write a relevant post, and then link it in the Linky below. Then grab the code to add to the bottom of your post as that is what makes it a blog hop.

This Linky is all about Mums losing their mum tums...

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi Everyone

Sorry I am doing this so late. Makes it hard for people to enter the linky on a Monday - which is why I always used to load it up on Sunday night.

I wasn't lazy last night. Aaron vomited at 7.30 p.m. and continued to do so until 11 p.m. (a total of 5 times). Then he woke at 5 a.m. hungry and I waited till 6.30 a.m. before I felt safe to give him a bottle (as he wasn't keeping them down last night). He had 3 this morning and kept them all down. Thank God. But it all put pay to my intentions to get the Linky live on Sunday.

If you have been keeping an eye out for it all day, do forgive me. Please.

So back to Mumentum.

I am calling this the Who Am I post... Because...
  1. I am a slim girl inside a fat body
  2. I am a tidy person inside a messy person
  3. I am an early riser inside a late riser
  4. I am an organised person inside chaos
  5. I am a healthy person inside a bad eater
  6. I am a yoga teacher inside a sloth
  7. I am a know it all inside a know nothing
  8. I am a practicer inside a preacher
  9. I am spiritual inside a non thinker
Basically, when I am the person inside, my soul sings.  But unfortunately, 99.9% of the time I am the person on the outside, chasing my own tail, while quoting many and varied reasons for doing so.

When I occasionally honour the person within, I feel in line with the universe and EVERYTHING falls into place.  Only trouble is, it is rare.  And with a baby, it is becoming more and more rare.  And since being back at work, juggling work and baby, it is non-existent.  I am a yoga teacher who hasn't even done one asana since giving birth, and he is nearly 16 months old.

Anyway, what I KNOW from my spiritual knowledge is that when you put an intention out there, your soul starts preparing even before your body does.  Due to this phenomenon, I haven't enjoyed food for the last few days.  And why, because, I strongly believed when I wrote my Mumentum post last week, that I would start the lemonade diet on my days off that have just passed (I work Tuesday to Thursday so am back at work tomorrow). Because my soul THOUGHT I would stick to it, it was already lined up to be off food on a liquid diet. But I did not honour my intention.  I need to BUT I want to start it on days off so now need to wait till Friday PLUS you have to use B grade maple syrup and I haven't sourced it yet........ yawn zzzzzzz

But I have now booked Aaron's baptism (and party) for 30th October, and I want to look good for that, so I now have a deadline....... :-)

Anyway I have rambled enough, but hopefully I have opened up enough that you know where I am at.  I feel a bigger sense of clarity anyway.  Sorry I have waffled a little, but it felt right...

Here's the Linky.  Over to you.  Do you want to join me in a Who Am I Mumentum post?

Grab the "code" and place at the bottom of your post as that is what makes it a Blog Hop.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum - Back to School (weight loss school)

Hi Everyone

Sorry I have been gone for a few weeks but I booked a last minute trip to Ireland to get a few weeks away before Aaron started at nursery.

So now this week the kids go back to school and we return to Mumentum.

My Aunt and I are starting a Monday weekly weigh-in tomorrow, so I will do a post about that tomorrow and link it here, to the linky below.

I hope you are all still around and ready to jump on board and welcome to anyone new :-)

For anyone new, all you do is write a relevant post and copy the link to it, into the linky below.  Then copy the code below to the bottom of your post as that is what makes it a blog hop.

I have lost the cable that links my camera to my laptop which is why I haven't done a post about Ireland, as it would be incomplete without snaps.

So, what is Mumentum about? It is about us ladies sharing momentum to lose our Mum Tums, hence the spin on words with MumenTum :-)

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Another week.....

Well I am not jumping on the scales as I know I haven't lost anything - sorry ladies.

But the thing that has been stressing me out (and making me pig out) came to an end on Thursday, so fingers crossed it is onwards and upwards for me now.

I am yet to download Thinking Slimmer and I just know that will be the making of me; it has worked for so many other bloggers I know and love.

So for anyone new, this is a Monday link up for Mums who want to lose their Mum Tums.

I usually provide the link up on Sunday night.

Simply write a relevant post, add it to the linky below and "grab the code" that makes it a blog hop and it means people can hop from your post to visit other people.

Have a great week. Lots of love,

Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Apologies that I did not load up this linky post yesterday but we were out all day and I lay down to put Aaron to bed and did not feel like getting up to turn on the laptop - I tried to force myself and still couldn't.

My week involved a lot of ups and downs, and what I ate reflected that.

I still haven't downloaded Thinking Slimmer but am hoping to do so today.

Anyway over to you.

For newbies, all you have to do is write a post that is relevant to losing your Mum Tum and then hopefully we will give you some MumenTum.

Add the link to that post below, and grab the code, which is what makes it a blog hop.

We tweet under the hashtag #Mumentum and there is a "Mumentum" List on Twitter where you can find all the ladies who are members.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Well despite the fact that Mumentum's been running for weeks I have got fatter not slimmer during that time.

But thinks have reached a head now. My candida is at its worst and my coffee jar is empty, so this coming week is going to be the week where I really start to take things seriously.

Just look at my shadow:

And normally I am photogenic but I look quite large to say the least in my precious Gok Wan photos and people are starting to ask if I am pregnant because my Mum Tum has become THAT large.

I was back in my jeans 2 months after having Aaron and in December I was looking good but second half of December I'd put on weight by Xmas and it seems to have gone on and on and on and on. I do breastfeed less now, and I do eat ALOT more junk.

When Mum was here I used to make us healthy lunches and dinners but that was LAST Summer.........

Don't get me wrong I still had a MUM TUM (I had a c section) but it was nothing like it is now. It really is threefold now.

Really need to sort my life out as some of you are doing such amazing work. I promise to start doing you proud.

Over to you...

This is a blog hop. Enter your link below (to a relevant post) and then grab the code to have it at the bottom of your post too.

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Now that Cybermummy is over it is back to time to focus!
I couldn't wear a maxi dress without buying and wearing this:
I am not going to reiterate the rules as hopefully we all know them by now, and if you are new to my blog, just ask, or look at last week's post.

Apologies for the delay with this post but Cybermummy took over and it took me 3 hours to write my Cybermummy post last night.  A lot of us met up at Cybermummy which was wonderful...

As usual this is a blog hop, so if you are participating feel free to grab the code...

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum - finding my inner light

Hi

I am Mind, Body and Spirit, and they are all linked.

When my spirit isn't fulfilled it shows on my body...

I realise this.

What have I done about it?

I have acknowledged that despite teaching yoga till 37 weeks pregnant, I haven't done any since Aaron was born. I don't even meditate.

I went to the Yoga Festival 2006,7,8, and 9
But missed it last year.

So what have I done about it?

I have asked hubby to come with me and Aaron *there is a toddler camp there*
So I can look forward to 8 days in the sun and Aaron will LOVE IT.

Daddy has agreed to come.

I need to fulfill my soul and renew my SPIRIT.  And get away!

I carry weight when I am HEAVY. I am HEAVY. I am not LIGHT. So the LIGHT of my soul is not shining through. The heavier I get, the worse I eat, the lower my vibration gets... it is a vicious circle.

Grumpinator called me Guru in jest in an email, but she didn't realise the lightbulb moment that set off.

We ARE giving each other Mumentum. Within our little team, there are sub teams of people who can relate to each other. And we ARE spurring each other on, at the levels we are each at.

There are the hardcore peops, losing lots and meal planners extraordinaire and there are the soul searchers. We are all together watching each others successes and false starts.

We are all on different rungs of the same or different ladders.

Like Aaron starting to walk, it is pick up, fall down, pick up and this time a few steps further and a few steps stronger and a few steps nearer the ultimate goal.

I love the fact that we are all friends on this linky. We all comment on each other. It doesn't need to be a rule we just do it.

Anyway my pillow calls and I have rambled enough. I am writing from a laptop in bed which seems to make me wax lyrical more - sorry guys.

Before I go, Claire said, "Before, I always focused on what I didn't want to be"

and I realised on Saturday that I want to focus on what I DO WANT TO BE.... so we are in the same groove with that line of thinking - blog sisters!

So in that vein I will post a photo of me looking at my best, with the aim of getting back there (she goes to rummage for a yummy photo in the hope of actually finding one)

When she wore dresses!!!  And it was only 2008... MALTA!
And again before I go, nearly everyone this week has included a link to me in their post and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that it is very very sweet of you all. Thank you. I never take it for granted. xxx

I am the light of the soul
I am bountiful
I am beautiful
I am bliss
I am
I am

Sunday, 19 June 2011

Hi

I am going to be different this week, and do a post of my own (tomorrow) that I will add to the Linky.

For now, with it being nearly midnight and me having work tomorrow, I simply open the Linky forthwith :-)

For newcomers, below are the criteria
  • You are a Mum
  • With a Mum Tum
  • Who needs some Mumentum to lose weight, get fit, get healthy or ... all 3
  • Please write a relevant post and that is the post that should be added to the Linky.  It can be a slightly older one, if you have a relevant one already, and you can write a fresh one for us next week.
I am not a rules type blogger but last week there were about 8-12 Links that I had to remove and it is tedious so I guess that's why rules get invented and here they are.

Lots of love and I hope you either had a good week, or have plans for having a good week in the coming week.

On my homepage you can find a link to the biogs of people who are already part of Mumentum - we are a friendly bunch.

And if you are looking for daily chat on Twitter we can be found tweeting at #Mumentum.

Bye for now,
Liska xxx

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum - woe is me violin time ...

It's that time of the week once again. MumenTum for ladies with a Mum Tum.

I load this on Sunday in case anyone wants to do their Monday post a day early, or tonight.

This blog hop is open to anyone with a Mum Tum.  Either write in the comments if you don't have a blog, or write a post and add it to the linky below.  When doing so, grab the code whilst there, so that you can have the linky list at the bottom of your post tooooooo - that's what makes it a blog hop.

Please don't link to your whole blog; add a link that goes straight to a relevant post.  We're a lovely group of ladies and you can read about us all at the biogs that I mention below.

You can skip my waffle and go straight to the linky if you like. I promise I won't be offended - okay, only a little bit ;-)

Since Mumemtum started I have been an organiser rather than a doer...
In self-help speak that is a spectator rather than a participator (you have to say that with an American accent)...
I organise the weekly linky...
I organise hooking people up on email...
I organised us voting on which hashtag to use which results in the hashtag #Mumentum...
I organised everyone sending me their biogs so that I could list them here...
When people show an interest in Mumentum I add them to a Twitter "list"...
I appear very organised but here's the truth...
Me - The MumenTum Cheerleader!
Since Mumentum's been running I only did one food shop and that was the resentful one I blogged about, where hubby skulked off to the Tesco cafe with Aaron and I stomped around by myself (1. because it was his idea to go food shopping and 2. I normally order online and have it delivered).  Well another set of days off have gone (I am working tomorrow) and I haven't done a food order.
And every good dieter knows that you can only eat healthily if you have the right foods in.
Work has been the only thing on my mind the last few weeks........ to the exclusion of all else, and I don't eat well when I am focusing too much on work.

How have we survived? Well I have popped to Sainsbury's or Co-op a few times, for a handful of items and the husband gets things on his way home from work, but we haven't had proper healthy food in, and it's been my downfall.  I did have a beautiful salad for lunch yesterday and again today though (because I walked to the shops in the rain on Friday, but as I don't drive I only got what I could carry).... Why I haven't done an online order I just do not know!!!

Being busy at work has also meant that I haven't organised anything for Aaron's birthday.......... but I secretly want to have a party for his baptism instead which I am hoping will be in August.  Anyway, I still haven't bought his present, which we were meant to do in Argos today, but me and the husband fell out instead....

So here I am trying to write an inspiring Mumentum post and feeling sorry for myself instead...

I have done some Googling though and I am trying to find out what one should have for breakfast when one is on an anti-candida diet..... starting the day with sugar (my usual jam on toast) sets you up for a fall and puts you on the rollercoaster of sugar rushes you are meant to avoid when suffering from Candida.

I'll go and weigh myself now, to see if I miraculously have any good news on that front....

I'm back.  First piece of good news, I haven't put on any weight! Second piece of good news, I have kept off the 2 pounds that I'd lost this time last week.

So yes, I ermmmmmm need to get a little serious and errrrrmmmmm a little focused, if anything is going to happen here.

Otherwise I will just be the MumenTum cheerleader, watching you all continuing to do very well while I wave my pom poms :-)

Liska xx

MUMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi All

First, I must say this Blog Hop is open to all Mums with a Mum Tum, on a mission.

Either, write a blog post about your Mum Tum mission and put a link to it in the linky below, OR, if you are reading and you have a Mum Tum but don't have a blog, then tell us your story in my comments section.  You don't have to have a blog. Perhaps you have a Twitter account though? Either way, join the Momentum crew.

Now, what's my story this week?

I have decided that I am a fraud.

I started this MomemTum thing a few weeks ago and have lost pounds ZERO since then.  I blogged about being in my size 16 jeans a few weeks ago, when the ones I have worn for the last couple of years have been size 18, well...... it must've been a "light" week, or a fluke, as today, the size 18s are TIGHT. I blogged on 8th May that I have been 95kg for the last couple of months, not my normal 88kg. Well I weighed myself yesterday and am firmly 95kg despite weeks of MomenTum - that's why I am most certainly a fraud!

I saw this post at Michelle Twin Mum's Mummy From The Heart blog and took a similar photo today, to show you just how bad it is.  I need to meditate on this photo and do something about it:
This is me - it is NOT a Google images photo, and the jeans are 18!!
That's another reason I am a fraud, as I left a comment on her post saying that I would do it for both of us, and I have done NADA.... In fact since I became more earnest, I have eaten worse and I mean alot worse.

I was slimmer last Summer when I had just had Aaron.  My Mum was here and I was buying loads of healthy food on Tesco.com and we were having extremely healthy lunches and dinners and now I just don't cook.

In fact while I am writing this I have just had a fresh cream slice (because they'll go off today) and a muffin for the same reason.  That'll be my lunch now. THAT is outrageous and I didn't even buy them.  The husband did. But because he has a sweet tooth! But if they are there, and I don't have time for lunch I will eat them.

BUT I am spending the time I could be making a healthy lunch writing this blog post.... which is just so ironic it is laughable.

I haven't done an online Tesco order in weeks, and that day we went to Tesco (that I blogged about) well most of the healthy stuff from that shop went in the bin unused.

I am just a disaster at the moment and really need to sort it out if I am to run this blog hop with any authenticity or attend Cybermummy looking half way decent.

Two weeks ago I blogged that I would cook every day in the coming week, I didn't...

Last week I blogged that I'd made a dish..... haven't cooked since then.

I have been grazing every day on RUBBISH.  And stress at work has seen me reaching for all the nasties and drinking too much coffee.

At the Nivea and Ubisoft event I was told to purchase a couple of things for my candida and I haven't even done that yet.

So I am shameful and don't even deserve to be in this group.

At this rate I'll be hiding instead of going to Cybermummy.

So I either sort it out or give up and I already know this week at work is not going to be any better....

So over to something positive.

At the Nivea Event I had a free consultation with Hilary Kingston from Think Nutrition

She said:
  • I need to give up sugar and coffee
  • My candida is back
  • My body won't take a loss of sugar very well so substitute with fruit.
  • Purchase a product from Revital that is for the adrenals (as she said I have extreme adrenal fatigue which is caused by too much "fight or flight")
  • I was supposed to text her for the name of the product and haven't yet!
  • Get onto a probiotic - also haven't done yet.
  • Order "Silver Shield" which gets rid of Candida - also haven't done yet.
  • All of this means I am retaining fat! I know!
  • All of this means I have bloating! I know!
  • All of this means I have brain fog! I know!
So I need to do the things she told me to.

When I had Candida and severe IBS in the year 2000 I gave up ALL SUGAR in February 2001 and by June 2001 I had lost 3 stone and looked fabulous! I went from a size 16 to a size 12 and I know how to do it and I know I could do it again.

WHAT is stopping me? Is there emotional baggage stored in my fat cells that I want to hold on to? I would not be surprised........

Is it a self esteem thing? WHAT is it?
I used to be a Yoga Teacher for goodness sake.

Anyway I have ranted and self obsessed enough.

So over to you lovely ladies to tell us your story.

Lots of love from the fat one.

Liska xxxxxxxx

MOMenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi All,

Anyone is allowed to join us.  All you need is a blog and a Mum Tum, and you can jump on our bandwagon.  Please write a post in keeping with the theme: losing your Mum Tum, and link to it below.

So ladies this week it's over to you.  I am not setting a theme or any questions.  So invent your own subject.... mine is:

What's your problem?

So I took the photos below today in readiness for this post...... as my main problem is that in weeks I have not cooked.... I graze on nibblies instead and hence the pounds have piled on.  I said last week that I would cook every day this past week - I didn't....... I know...... I failed, but the first step in progress is admitting you failed right?

I use Aaron as an excuse not to cook...... to be fair now he's mobile it is harder.....

But tonight I cooked and that is what I need to do if I am going to shift this weight.

In December I was lighter and slimmer than I am now, as I spent the whole Summer last year cooking.  My Mum was here for 9 weeks when Aaron was born, so I used to make healthy dinners for us all.

Everytime I go to Working London Mummy's blog I feel terrible, as I know this is one of my biggest issues currently and she excels in that area.  I promise to do one of her recipes one of these days......

Anyway today I made a meal and luckily hubby was able to eat it before going on a night shift, so it's nice to know he has gone off with a full tum :-)

I didn't make diet food, I made what we happened to have in:

Dolmio sauce with fried fresh onion and fresh tomatoes

Basmati done in a skillet which tastes like a rice cooker.

Fragrant fluffy rice - delicious! Turned bowls onto plate for the presentation effect!

The stew and rice and 2 steak burgers and stuffed vine leaves.

So, at the Nivea and Xbox event I found out that my candida is back, and the lady I saw there, recommended that I give up coffee and sugar.  I will try and make an effort with that this week.  I know that's urgent as she said I have high blood sugar and to be honest I don't feel myself.

But at least I have broken the "no cooking" thing I had inflicted on myself....... that's progress.

Over to you...

MomenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

Hi

Well it is week 2 of Monday's MomenTum, and week 3 if you include the Boot cut Bootcamp post...

The questions I want to ask all of you are:
  1. What is working?
  2. What is not working?
  3. What's worked in the past?
  4. What will you really focus on this week? and
  5. What have you achieved so far?
My answers:
  1. Eating more salad, drinking more water, and moving more.
  2. The fact that I still had 1 Easter egg in the house, and still have half a box of chocolates.
  3. Eating an alkaline diet and doing detoxes has REALLY worked for me in the past.
  4. This week I am going to focus on reducing my caffeine intake, and drinking more water.  I am also going to try and cook an evening meal every evening - I am going to try and get tips from Working London Mummy's great blog, which I have been daunted by so far, as cooking's been on the decline since Aaron came along.
  5. Got into a pair of size 16 jeans when my others were size 18..... I have a confession though.... after I bragged about that to y'all, I then, a couple of days later tried on the other size 16 pair I'd bought on the same day (2nd April) and I wore them the other day.  They dug into my stomach and waist so badly, I was ruined with red marks on my waist when I got home. I'm sure it wasn't good for my vital organs.  I took a photo, but it really shows that I have three tummies so I am not posting it, even though I'd half intended too.
So that final point..... the jeans issue, is really spurring me on now.

A while back a few of you were talking about the Dukan diet - I didn't know what you were talking about - but I read about it in my magazine this afternoon and it seems alot of celebs are doing it.

Anyway, bye for now,

Liska xx

Monday Mum Tum

Hi Ladies

How did the daily momentum go?  For anyone reading this who doesn't know... there is a group of us trying to lose weight together to lose our Mum Tums.  It is no coincidence that the word momentum has the words "mom" and "tum" in there.

We give each other a nudge or a kick or simply a reminder by being there, on Twitter each day.

We are:

@Mummyandbeastie
@Grumpinator
@wouldliketobe
@workinglonmummy
@newmumonline
@multiplemummy
@alysonsblog

We all want to get back in trim or in Alyson's case, simply maintain (which as we all know isn't always simple).

We all want to look good for ourselves, but also for Cybermummy :-)

A few of us have blogged about our reasons for doing this:
  • Me here
  • Grumpinator here
  • Would Like to be a Yummy Mummy here
  • Mummy and the Beastie here
  • Alyson here
So, what is your Mum Tum.  Mine is twofold.... Flab above the waist and a Caesarean podge (above my scar) below the waist.  I know I can get rid of the former but quite concerned about the latter.  For this reason I would recommend a natural birth to anyone who can do it.

Made me LOL when I said twofold, as it is more like three :-)

So in this first Weekly Monday Mum Tum what would I like to say.....?

I would like to say that I got into a pair of size 16 jeans this week and I am simply thrilled about that.  I bought them on 2nd April in a "return to work" shopping trip.  I was devastated when they didn't fit, but after the stress of the shopping trip I could not admit that to the husband so for the last few weeks have been wearing old jeans to work.

They now fit.

Does that mean a goal is ticked off? Yes, but nearly, not quite.....

They fit! But there is a lot of muffin top action going on.

So the new short term goal is the muffin top and the long term goal is still Cybermummy.

Oh and the other goal is the fact that before and after I had Aaron I was 88 kg, but at a recent trip to the Doctor's I was 95 kg, so my short term goal is to deal with that before anything else.

Now that I am in the size 16 jeans, I would like to be back to the size 12 I spent my teens and twenties being....... can I do it, yes I can! But, how long will it take?  Watch this space....

I used to blog a lot about weight loss on my old blog Liska Life.

What's motivating YOU???

For me, it is my big arms:

Bye for now, Liska xxx

-------------------------------

I'll now hand over to the other lovely ladies to give their Monday update.

I am doing this on Sunday, as I am working tomorrow.  I know I usually work Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, but the reason that I went in last Friday is still there, so I am in again tomorrow.  And I want this blog post to be up in case the other ladies want to add their bit early in the morning when I will be busy getting ready for work.

Never done a linky before and it wouldn't let me tick the box for a blog hop which is what I wanted.

MomenTUM - Monday Mum Tum

And there we have it.........

I just gave up......... Motivational Monday was already taken and I gave up........ how can I stick to weight loss if I give up so easily BUT..... Claire kicked my but in her A (much needed) Kick Up the Backside post.

And I had a 5 minute brainstorm with myself and here we are........

We will give each other daily momentum! and we will do a weekly Monday Mum Tum check in.

What do we think ladies?

Liska xx
