A Week of Photos A Week of Memories

I was meant to post this yesterday, but ended up falling asleep with Aaron and not getting back up.

I've now realised that Project 365 goes from Sunday to Saturday, so as I took NO pics on my camera on Sunday 8th, I'll have to include the same "phone" photo from last week's 365, where I mistakenly finished with a Sunday. This is only my second time taking part - I'll get there :-)

So this is the proper DAYS 39-45

This photo is about the fact that I dropped my Ikea cafetiere jug, and was at a loss for a while, until I decluttered the kitchen and came across one of my Christmas presents :-) from my Sister in Law. It's only a one cup, but that is perfect as I am down to one cup of coffee a day, which I have first thing. The broken jug is in the picture as a way of saying, that even when things are broken, there is a solution. Anyway I much prefer this cafetiere as it is metal framed rather than plastic and has a luxury feel about it, which makes me savour that one cup even more, and I make my morning coffee like a ritual/ceremony. Being mindful is like a meditation and is good for your blood pressure and wellbeing.

Monday it's really hard to choose just one pic here, as it was foggy AND frosty on the way to school, and we got lots of great shots. Aaron adored running towards the fog, but was always a bit disappointed that it looks thicker when it is before you, than when you are in it. Got lots of video footage too. Here he is going into the brink. So glad Daddy was at work, so we enjoyed it on foot instead of in the car:
Tuesday Daddy was gardening and Aaron went out to join him. He was overjoyed that one of our little naked Winter trees, has buds on, as he is fascinated with the arrival of Spring and Summer. He can't wait for Summer as he wants his birthday ever so badly. He's waiting for all the daffodils on the school run to bloom. I was amazed with these buds too actually as they feel velvety. You just have to love Aaron's curls though right?
Wednesday the husband drove me to Aldi, and I did my usual thing of sneaking a couple of extra bits in with the food shop. Even got a couple of books for Aaron. Initially I stopped to look at their roses as they were in-store from 11th despite Valentine's Day being on 14th, but whilst I was doing that I saw a lady moving all these Orchids around, trying to choose one. I asked her what she was doing and we got chatting. She had me convinced that double orchids for a tenner, and in a pot, were exceptionally good value. She had me once she said that they last for "months" so I grabbed one. So my weekly routine of having daffodils on my kitchen window is now finished (they weren't going to be in season much longer anyway) so now I have this, except it looks very different now there are roses on there too :-)
Even though I didn't buy my usual 95 pence bunch of daffodils I did buy (in Aldi) Daffodils in a bedding tray, and they stayed in the kitchen overnight. Thursday 12th February it was so mild on the way home from school I knew we'd want to spend  the evening in the garden, so we took the opportunity to plant them. Just like the ones on the school run, I wanted them to be by a tree, rather than in a flower bed, so that's just what we did, and even though the soil was already wet, I asked Aaron to fill the watering can as I knew he would enjoy doing this:
Friday 13th I was delighted when Aaron agreed to wear his Panda Hat to and from school as he hasn't had nearly enough wear out of it. So yes, we went from Thursday mild enough to plant daffs to Friday cold enough to wear this:
Saturday was of course Valentine's Day and Daddy blew me away. I got a dozen red roses and a card from Daddy. But the special touch was an additional card and a single red rose from Aaron. The single red rose Daddy had picked was "black beauty" the exact same ones we had on our wedding day. What touched me so much was that when put together it meant that there were 13. Regular readers will know I talk about the number 13 so so much as being a feminine number which is so important this year. On top of that we had been together 13 years (to the day) when we got married AND that was 13 years ago... When I cut the 2 cm off the bottom of the roses, so that you get fresh stem to absorb the water, I deliberately let the 13th rose be the tallest:

This is my second time joining in with Project 365, over at The Boy and Me and I love it.
