My First Time Doing Project 365

For the life of me, I do not know WHY it has taken me so so long to join up. Every year I say, this is the year I will do 365, and because I want to do it from 1st Jan, when I don't, I then don't do it!!! Ttttssskkk! Anyhow, my 365 starts here and if I ever get chance I will do an ultra long post for the past 39 days ;-) worth of photos.

So here goes. Go easy with me, I've not done this before.

Saturday saw us food shopping so we'd have it out of the way before my birthday Sunday. We've never been to Aldi on a Saturday before. It was pleasantly busy, but like a buzzzz rather than chaotic. This was what we spent 67 pounds on:
It's pretty easy to choose my favourite picture from my birthday on Sunday. It is this one:
If you've watched my latest You Tube video you will know that #SchoolPedal hasn't happened in 2015. First of all, since the New Year, Aaron's wanted to scoot and now he jogs/runs/walks every day there and back (apart from when Daddy's not at work and he gives us a lift). On Monday he was particularly funny as he did a jog to imitate some runners that went passed us. Here's a pic, but the footage on my video is way funnier (but I think you had to be there):
Apologies that these photos are so random but I had no idea I was going to be doing 365, but tonight it just hit me that I have to dive in at some point or I'll never do it.

Ever since Aaron spotted funny grass, which I explained was Daffodils waiting to bloom, he now examines them every day for signs of flowering. He wants them to look like the ones on Mummy's kitchen window. This, amongst other things, makes it a LONG walk home, but I am very patient as we're not rushing anywhere (unlike the morning). I managed to catch the tour of the daffodils inspection on camera Tuesday.
I took hardly any pictures on Wednesday 4th February. Didn't even post anything on Instagram that day, so the only thing I have to offer for Wednesday is Aaron eating his dinner #bless. Yes, he did eat ALL of that broccoli. This is Mummy's famous sausage casserole :-) Terrible Mummy that his uniform was still on - ooops!
Thursday, for lunch, Daddy and I had Aldi's salmon (which I buy every week now) and beautiful bread, with a lovely mug of cuppa soup each. Who says you can't eat more for less. I love having a wholesome lunch with Daddy when Aaron is at school:
I've never ever grasped food photography, and given I only have a point, shoot camera, it aint gonna happen anytime soon, but even I love that shot. Hhhhhmmm good enough to eat from the screen. Yum!

Friday was a beautifully sunny day, where it could easily freeze the balls of a brass monkey, but the sky was STUNNINGLY BLUE. We had lots of errands to run in the car with Daddy after school. I met him with a tupperware container of pasta bolognese. I know my boy comes out of school ravenous. He ate it with gusto and then enjoyed looking at the stunning evening. The evenings really are noticeably stretching now:
For yesterday and today, I will have to revert to Instagram as there are no more pics on my Sony Cybershot camera.

My favourite pic from Saturday 7th February is hands down this one:

I hope I have done this all correctly. Sorry for being such a novice, and now I know I am a 365-er, I will make more of an effort to photograph worthy things this week ha ha! But this gives you an insight into an ordinary unstaged week. This blog USED to be known for blogging about LOTS of days out, but we've pretty much stayed indoors for all of December and January. I haven't done a Country Kids post for example in months. Must sort our lives out!!!!

Bye for now, Liska xxx

  1. So many gorgeous photos. Project 365 is such a fantastic idea! It is my first year doing it too and am loving it so far. You got a lot from Aldi for such a great price. 1. Thank you, and yes it is a fabulous idea. I visited you too and adore the game the kids played with their meal. Great too it meant that they ate it all. Envious you got snow as we've had none, but this morning Jack Frost was very busy and we had frost AND fog. The walk to school was truly magical and I can't wait to share a photo in next week's 365 xxx

  2. Lovely photos. I love doing Project365 as it forces me to take pictures that I can be rather lazy about doing. The Aldi shop looks lovely. Looking forward to seeing your pictures week to week. xx

    1. Thanks Jacinta. My blog used to be about archiving memories and I'd lost sight of that of late, so I am so glad that #Project365 will see me reclaiming that aspect of my blog. Thanks so much for visiting and commenting. I really look forward to participating every week. Off to visit you now. Liska xx

    1. Oh so you are an old timer who doesn't do 365, like I was. I am so glad I am joining in now, to capture the memories, and not let a day go by without taking a pic. Shopping at Aldi means I can afford to eat the way I want to eat :-) x

  4. Lovely photos - especially the smoked salmon on toast which is making me hungry! Don't worry about whether your photos feature 'worthy things', so long as each photo means something to you!

    1. You're absolutely dead right. I opened this post with trepidation as I knew I haven't taken many great photos since the first half of December. I've kind of been hibernating but you are right, worthy or not, I am happy with them xx

    1. I can't get over it really. Whether I or Aaron or Daddy throw in a few "luxuries" it's always 55 or 65. This time 67. Our shops used to be 30 pounds more before finding Aldi xx

  6. Lovely photos from a busy week. I love those yellow daffodils - I'm so desperate for some warmer weather and that splash of colour is so lovely.

    1. Well today was odd - speaking of warmer weather - this morning everything was white! Even the air! Everything was covered in frost and fog. It was MAGICAL for Aaron walking to school as it looked so mystic and kind of made up for it that we've had no snow. But then same day, this evening, it was a glorious walk (almost warm; well mild really) home from school like Spring. Glorious sun and clear blue sky. So it's like we had deep deep mid Winter in the morning and Spring only a few hours later. Very odd xxx

  7. I'm trying for the the third or fourth time to do a 365. I've only managed the whole year just once but I'm trying really hard to remember to take a photo each because I want to succeed again this year.
Good luck with your 365 :)

    1. Yes some of the best photos are taken on phones. My belief is it is the MOMENT that you are capturing and that is about the colours, the lighting and the smiles (not the quality of the camera). Often people with great cameras put them to little use x

    1. That was bought on 31st January, and we didn't go to Aldi again until yesterday which was 11th February, and I bought it again. Buy EVERY week we adore it. But we don't have a set shopping day so we just go when things run out, but I buy mostly the same things every week x
