Wot So Funee

We're going through that terrible threes phase (yes 3 not 2!!!) where little one can be defiant, disobedient, determined, deaf when it suits him, and downright annoying!  It is a challenging phase, mixed with alternate highs and lows.  The highs are very very high as at this age they do and say wonderful things, but I find myself shouting more and more often and I don't like it.

Anyway WOT SO FUNEE?

Wot So Funee?

Well..... the other day, at the dining table, Aaron said something very clever cloggs to me (can't even remember what it was as the adrenaline rush that the terrible 3s are giving me are also giving me brain mush) and as I was at the end of my tether, I found myself saying:
"Smart arse!"
I instantly regretted it.  Wished I could take it back.  Predicted the 2 months it would take me to get HIM to now stop saying it.  3 year olds are parrots, but he looked at me, and said:
"s'matoes" [followed by an intense quizzical look as he wondered if he'd got it right]
I laughed for about 10 minutes as it sounded like tomatoes with an S in the front.  It just tickled me, and I guess I was relieved (big style)!

He couldn't understand why I was laughing but he joined in anyway.  As my laugh eventually started to subside, he tried to say it again to get the same reaction, but I was spent.

What have you said that gets repeated?  Are you also going through the terrible (which is sometimes awesome) 3s?

Check out below and join in - this is a blog hop after all!

Wot So Funee

For my Wot So Funee today I have a slightly serious funny followed by funny photos.

Wot So Funee?

The serious one is this:

While I am hanging washing on the line Aaron often runs round the front.
Yesterday I took him to one side and said

"there are people out there who will take you home, and you will never see Mummy and Daddy again"

His answer:

"Don't worry I will smack them!" said with serious gusto and serious emphasis on the smack word.

About ten minutes later, having taken me seriously he goes round the front and shouts back to me:

"where are they then?"

I shouldn't have laughed but I couldn't help it. He didn't see me laughing.

Oh and for some light entertainment in the form of photos here is what he does when I say
"smile" or "say cheese"

And here's a bonus.  He is in the bath RIGHT NOW, and he just asked me to get his truck so that he could push it round the rim of the roll top bath.

I shouted in to him
"I can't find it"

He shouted back:
"Yes you can!"

I don't know why it was so funny, I guess you had to be there, but his Dad laughed for about 5 minutes I guess because it sounded so precocious. His enthusiasm and insistance DID mean I found it though :-)

Wot So Funee

It's been a few weeks since I have written a Wot So Funee, to link up over with Actually Mummy...

I had no reason to stop other than, when I did join in those weeks, if Aaron did ANYTHING funny I made a note of it, to have as blog fodder when the big linky day arrived.  The mistake I have made the last few weeks has been to trust my memory, which goes like this
  1. Aaron does something funny
  2. I laugh
  3. He laughs
  4. I think THAT was SO funny I DON'T need to make a note of it
  5. I will NEVER forget THAT
  6. Tuesday comes along, and I am like "Wot [was] so funee?" doh!!!!!!!
The ONLY reason it is not a problem today is because the funny happened TODAY so it is EASY to remember.

GO ME! Ha ha!

Wot So Funee?

So here goes.

When Aaron and I were out and about the other day, I got him a Disney magazine.  Despite my having NO MONEY.  It added a big fat £3.99 to my overdraft and he has ALREADY broken the free toy that it came with.  GGggggrrrrr.

Anyway it features Wreck it Ralph really heavily which is GREAT as Aaron saw it at the cinema.

What really really tickled me earlier - yes I have finally got to the FUNEE....

He looked at a pic of Wreck it Ralph in his Disney magazine and said
"he's a big strong boy just like me".

Yes, Aaron he is.

Bless your cotton socks!

Wot So Funee - Three for the price of one

Joining up for the 3rd week in a row.  This is becoming a bit of a habit.

After a sabbatical, Actually Mummy is back at the helm this week.

Wot So Funee?

I normally make a note of the funny things Aaron does so that I have them ready but I was not so organised this week, so I am faced with a blank page.

I went to Daddy for inspiration.

Aaron goes to visit Daddy in the spare room (his man cave!!!) and keeps laying flat two things at the entrance: an empty CD rack and a keyboard (electronic piano).  Daddy keeps telling him not to do it as they will drop on his toes as he is laying them flat.

Anyway, the other day, Daddy was entering the said same room, in only a towel and the towel caught against the two items leaning against the wall, and caused them to drop on DADDY'S toes, to which Aaron squeeled with delight at the top of his voice "SEEEEEE".

See, seems to be Aaron's new favourite word.  He spent a few hours at Grandma's house yesterday, and whenever anything happened that was like an "I told you so" moment, Aaron would say "seeeee".

Yes, it is rather precocious, but when they're your own, it's ADORABLE, cute and FUNNY ;-)

If funny can be interpreted as funny strange, rather than funny ha ha, then I have another one for you.  Is that allowed?

On Saturday we went on a tour of the trees at Hampstead Heath and our tour guides went into the Celtic Astrology behind the trees; lots of Druid stuff etc...

THAT morning before we left home Aaron got a red marker and painted his face red.  I quickly wiped it all off before we left the house but I missed a strong red bit by his ear, where he'd been particularly heavy handed.  One of the "tour guides" noticed it, and she said "isn't that funny, Druids used to face paint their faces red" so YET AGAIN my son was a bit psychic, tuning into the day, before we'd even left home.

****

I don't know why I started this post by saying I had nothing funny to report.  Me and Aaron just walked to nursery for his 1-6 p.m. session.  Nursery was closed for Easter today (stupid Mummy for not paying attention) and while we walked home (with my tail between my legs) a memory from last week came flooding back to me, which is my REAL WOT SO FUNEE.

On Thursday we went to a leaving do, at Aaron's nursery.  Proper bash with a buffet of great food, and music etc.... Nearly all staff, children and parents were there - a really good turn out! All day I kept saying to Aaron "we're going to a party".

In case he would think it was a birthday party, I kept saying "L is leaving your school, she won't be your teacher anymore, she's going to be an Aerobics Instructor". Followed closely with "You need to say Goodbye to her at the party as she is not coming back".

Being the chatterbox I am, I said it more than once throughout the day.  Realising it was a big deal to Mummy that "L" is leaving (baring in mind she is his SECOND favourite teacher) he said to me:

"Don't worry Mummy "C" will be my roller coaster!"

LOL. Very funny and his earnest tone and face whilst he said it made it all the funnier.

Bless him, he translated Aerobics Instructor to something he could recognise, whilst reassuring poor Mummy that he WOULD be okay.

Bless you Aaron, I love you.

Wot So Funee

So I am joining in with Wot So Funee for the second week in a row.  This may just become a habit...

Wot So Funee?

I have photos AND video to go with what I am going to describe but alas, messy me, has misplaced the USB cable OR Aaron has flung it somewhere, as is his way :-(

So Friday, we were in the pool (we went swimming for two hours) and as Aaron often wathches Jake and the Neverland Pirates, he held his fist up to his eye (like a telescope - which he has never done before) and said:

"harrr harrr
I am cap'ain hook!
Can I have my treasure back!
Please!"

Yes, he really does drop the "t" in Captain.

The please at the end had me laughing till I cried, so so so cute, and I have since managed to capture him doing it on video a few times - will upload when I can find that DAMN cable!

Also, in the same pool, on the same day, the same boy was also funny for a second time.  Remember last week when he decisively told me that I am NOT a Princess? Well this is similarly funny at Mummy's expense.

He was hanging off the railing, that accompanies the steps that go into the Learning Pool, and something about the way he was doing it triggered a memory... (because I can't remember anything before the age of four and Aaron is only two this doesn't often happen)

and I said to him

"ahhhh you are swinging in the water on those railings the way Mummy did when she was little!"

To which he said:

"Mummy was little?"

To which I said

"yes, 40 years ago"

To which he said

"oh dear"

and just to make certain I understood the sentiment it was followed with

"that's not good".

For some reason, his little wisdom made me howl with laughter.

My little man is far too wise, far too clever, and at least once a day, far too FUNNY.

That's why I love this linky as it is forcing me to record these moments.

Moments I would love to share with him when he is older.

Funny Two Year Old

I am joining in with Wot So Funee for the first time, as Aaron, as he gets older is increasingly getting VERY funny.  It was started, and is normally hosted by Actually Mummy, but this week is hosted by Mummy Never Sleeps.

Wot So Funee?

This morning after breakfast Aaron was sat on my knee facing me, and he was so so adorable I said:

"I am going to eat you"

To which he replied: "You can't"

Quickly followed by "You're Mummy"

And then to really confirm things: "You're not a lion" which was said really firmly and assertively and for some reason had me howling with laughter.

I guess you had to be there, right? ;-)

Then a few minutes later he says:

"I just don't like you" followed by "You're a fox?"

and HE says: "I am going to eat you"

Nibbles on my cheek gently *bless*

***

I should have taken part in this linky last week.  Something even funnier happened.

I was reading Aaron the Princess and The Frog in bed
and there's a bit (in our version) where she throws him out of bed
and then out of the window.

Aaron looked at me and said
"you wouldn't throw me out of the window?"
to which I replied
"you're not a frog"
to which he laughed and said straight back "and you're not a Princess".

I literally laughed till I cried - mwwwaaaa ha ha ha ha

This is a blog hop:
