100 Words - Beneath The Surface

http://jfb57.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/100wcgu-7.jpg

I am linking up with the 100 word challenge

You'd never know it, from what you see here. It's all motherhood, parenthood and childhood, but beneath the surface, there is a broken woman - apparently. She is there, but she is also about to be born again. Life is for living and one has to be magnificent and not live a life as one's shadow self. As the darkness of the seasons fades, so too does the darkness of life as we get nearer to the light. The sun will shine, the buds will open, lambs will be born, and so the year will carry on, and the days will lengthen.

100 Word Challenge

It is weeks since I have taken part in the 100 Word Challenge but I saw that Midlife Single Mum had done so, so here I am.

The prompt for the 100 words is this photo:

Every hurtful comment, every action that shows a lack of understanding, all the evidence of a lack of empathy, all bring me closer to the edge.

I look down, and all I see is a big drop.  I look forward and just see the sea.  I look back and it is all just stone, and a cold terrain.

The atmosphere is barren; my mind is at a loss.

The emptiness and silence is deafening.

The only green shoots are too far away to touch!

Life is cold and threatening.  The drop seems welcoming.

The cold water seems to beckon me...

"Take two" based on feedback given in the comments below, from this blogger.  I have now rewritten as follows:
Hurtful comments, actions born from a complete lack of understanding, no attempt at any empathy, void of all respect, all bring me closer to the edge.

100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups - The Rain Turned The Road into a River

I am joining in with the 100 word challenge for grown ups and it is week 50

*************************

So, I go for a day trip on a farm.

It’s July.

It’s Summer.

I take the boy.

I take the wellies.

The day is to be all about the animals.

A city boy and a city mum go to the farm.

The animals take a back seat.

The weather gets all the attention.

… the rain turned the road into a river…

So the wellies became the saviour!

The puddles and the splash the prize.

You need to be two years old to see that every cloud truly does have a silver lining?

Maybe the road needed to be a river.

Maybe water is the route to joy?
